Pizzaria Al Fresco — Restaurant in Portimão

The waitress and waiter were very attentive throughout our meal. A complimentary entree of olives with bread were welcome and tantalised our taste buds for the main course..... Tagliatelle Carbonara and my partners choice of Penne al Arrabiata. We'd ordered the Focaccia Mozzarella as a starter. All the dishes arrived hot and were exquisitely tasty......I love Carbonara and this was the very best I've ever tasted ( and I've had an inordinate number of Carbonaras in many places around the world including Italy!!)...flavours were strong, not wishy washy, and the ingredients used were obviously carefully chosen and prepared with care and love. The Focaccia Mozzarella was lightly drizzled with oil and herbs so was allowed to bathe in the cheese and dough it's based on. A taste explosion on a plate😍 We dared to have a dessert as everything before it had been so good.....no disappointments there either.....I opted for the Bolo de Chocolate, my partner chose the Panna Cotta, and again the flavours just hit your taste buds with a vengeance and melted your palate into submission. This experience was perfect and the cost was unfathomably great value.....only €36....😯. Al Fresco is a hidden gem that should be higher rated than the reviews may lead you to believe......Meditteraneante is nothing compared to Al Fresco for Italian cuisine in the Alvor area....we will be back several times before we have to leave...

We came to the restaurant based on google comments, 4.7 is a very good score. A major disappoitment was the service. From beginning the bare minimum, and waiting time too long. After finishing dinner we waited 30 minutes plus to ask dessert and coffee. After asking one time to order and listen we need to wait, we saw several tables finishing after going trough that process of ordering and eating dessert. It seemed several tables were known by the house and had "priority" (had the right to hugs, laughs,etc). Is normal that customers more regular are treated with care, but these situations are not acceptable (deprioritize others). So we gave up and paid what we consumed and left (with no excuse at all for the situation). Maybe we were unlucky on the day we came, maybe there are few employees for all July volume. But we will not return, neither recommend no one. Food...

The best cheese and garlic bread and the best Pizza we ever had in Portugal. We have ordered the Pizza Mediterranica and switched Olives for chicken and the Pizza tasted amazing. Even the chicken was not dry and had a lot of flavour, which if almost never the case at other restaurants. A solid 10/10 with the perfect combination of flavours all complementing each other perfectly. We also had ordered the Lasagne and Tagliatelle Carbonara as take a away a few times and would also definetely recommend those. Very consistent taste and never a disapointment.
