Do not waste your time. Waited over an hour and 20 minutes just for the starter that had to be sent back! We had cheesy garlic bread and it was cold and hard, you could clearly tell that it has been cooked for too long and then sat waiting. When the new one arrived it was fine and the waiter couldn’t apologise enough.
The main came and it was less than average! They gave me the wrong pasta and my partners tasted like it was shop bought. No one asked if everything was okay and to get anyone attention you would have had to go downstairs as no one was around, I think they was understaffed for the amount of bookings they had!
When they asked if everything was okay when taking our plates we said it was okay and the waiter replied ‘perfect’ didn’t acknowledge the fact we clearly wasn’t happy.
We then had to wait quite a while again(15/20 minutes) for the bill. We complained and asked if there was any discount, the waiter couldn’t apologise enough and said he would speak to the manager, they came back and knocked €8 off which is t even a bottle of wine on the house which considering the terrible service we had I thought was insulting!
They also clearly crammed as many people in as they could because there was absolutely no room what so ever for the table next to us to to get out and they nearly knocked our wine over!
They also didn’t ask if we wanted any desserts as it took that long to take our order and give us our food that the place was closing!
When we went to pay I said I would pay but I’m not happy and to not give us anything at all for a complimentary was insulting and I was not happy and informed them I would write a bad review, the waiter told me who the boss was? I shouldn’t have to go and find the boss, they boss should be coming to us to try and resolve any matters!
When we booked the table the day before, there was a lady in that was complaining about the staff and how they were rude, she was quite high rate and the manager then didn’t seem to do or say anything, we decided to ignore this and book anyway. More...
Read moreWe had the absolute pleasure of dining at Pizzeria D’Alvino, a delightful, small, family-run Italian restaurant tucked away in a charming town in Portugal. From the moment we arrived, it felt like we had discovered a true hidden treasure.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a genuine sense of hospitality from both the owner and the waitress, who were outstanding hosts throughout the evening. You can tell this place is run with love and pride.
The food was nothing short of wonderful authentic Italian dishes cooked to perfection by a team of clearly talented (and very busy!) chefs. Each dish was flavorful, comforting, and beautifully presented. The selection of wine was also excellent, perfectly complementing the meal.
Given how popular this place is (and deservedly so), I highly recommend booking a table in advance. It’s well worth the effort. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Pizzeria D’Alvino and would return in a heartbeat. Highly recommended! Will...
Read moreWe had lovely pizza here, the restaurant is compact and cosy but the service is friendly and it was good value. We are a bit critical of most pizza found outside Italy but the pizza here was very good with great tasting crisp bases and flavoursome toppings. I had a Del Pappas which mixed chorizo with spinach and a very generous amount of cheese and it was delicious. My partner had a Tonno which was also generously topped and very tasty. All washed down with half a litre of house wine which was very drinkable and also cheap. I can recommend this restaurant if...
