My husband and I dined at this restaurant. We ordered a medium steak, but they brought us one that was practically rare — noticeably undercooked. My husband ate only a couple of bites, and then we asked them to cook the steak more, which they did, but unfortunately, it was already too late. During the night, my husband experienced severe vomiting and weakness, and later developed a fever. His condition remains serious — all signs of acute food poisoning, likely bacterial in nature. This could be caused by Salmonella, E. coli, Campylobacter, which are often found in insufficiently cooked meat. He didn’t eat anything else new or suspicious that day — it’s clear the problem was this dish. We expected a professional approach and sanitary standards, but instead suffered a serious health issue. Read moreI visited My Palace in Porto with high expectations, having consistently heard great recommendations about their francesinha. However, my experience fell short of these expectations. The meal started positively with the rissol de carne, which arrived promptly and had a truly exceptional flavor. Unfortunately, the main dish—the francesinha—was quite disappointing. It was served lukewarm, lacking the heat that typically makes this dish special. Even when I requested additional sauce, which usually arrives nearly boiling to revitalize the dish, it was only mildly warm and didn’t help to improve the situation. Additionally, the French fries were soft and cold, further diminishing the overall experience.
Despite this disappointing visit, I haven’t lost hope in My Palace, given the many positive recommendations I’ve heard. However, this particular experience was...
Read moreWe were walking from the Sealife Aquarium to Serralves and hoped to find a good restaurant for lunch. Luckily, this restaurant was just on our way, so we decided to give it a try based on the positive reviews we've read on the internet. I'm so glad we did! The place was pretty busy and full of locals - it is safe to assume we were the only tourists there. We've ordered the francinha which was huge and tasty! However, it was the desserts ('baba de caramelo' and 'natas de ceu') that totally cought us off guard - easily the best desserts we've had in any restaurant in Portugal, by far! The service was fantastic, with very kind, communicative and helpful waiters, which added to the overall authentic feel. Overall, great restaurant, with excellent food and atmosphere, highly...
