My wife and I stayed for one week in Constanza`s Blue Cottage and we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. Concerning the flat, be aware that your landlady is a freak of an interior decorator in terms of useful but charming details. So don't be surprised to turn on the lights by using a switch that resembles the ones used in the 19th century ... (don't you worry, they are brand new) or that the tap in the bathroom looks like the pumps that one used to find in the middle of an ancient european village. Every detail is very well thought of and exactly in the place you would like to find it. Except maybe for the placement of the TV screen, but hey, who needs that when you're 2km from the beach? Both the cottages are in the back of a lush garden with sun on the terrace as soon as early morning. Regarding its location, we wanted to be exactly there so for us it was perfect. Being between Foz and Matosinhos, it is a quiet place with not much around. Except nature of course. You have two bus lines stopping in front of the house though or you can walk which is what we did. It is perfect for biking too! You may bike through the park to the beach and then follow the 'boulevard' until Porto, it's more or less one hour. You can also go and visit Porto from here, but if you want to do so every day, there a more central location would be better. On the other hand, you have the magnificent Parque da Cidade just 100 mtrs away which hosts some nice terraces to have a drink or lunch. Crossing that park will take you to Praia do Matosinhos, the city's beach. Do not leave this area without having eaten fish or seafood in one of Matosinho's fish restaurants or having visited the fish market! Foz is a charming, very exclusive part of Porto where one can find some good restaurants too like for example Portarossa (Italian cuisine) or A capoeira (Portuguese cuisine). Between Matosinhos and Foz one can stroll on the beach or have a drink at one of the many beach bars. So, in all, we had a great stay here thanks to the landlady and her team and I guess we will be...
Read moreI stayed in Blue Cottage for one month. An amazing place. Felt at home from the minute I stepped in. Every detail was done with comfort and convenience. Beautiful outdoor area w private patio and small yard. Landscaping on property was lovely. 3 minute walk to the City Park which is amazing and ocean on other side of park. Short Uber to downtown or on bus. Each cottage is very private. Especially during this time, social distancing is possible on property and in the Park. 2 great open air restaurants at entrance to Park. Constanca was a wonderful host and was available for anything you needed. Cannot recommend this cottage enough. It was perfect...
Read moreWe've traveled with a kid by car from Germany, so we got the best retreat for our holiday in a big city. Staying at Constanca's beautiful and cozy cottage, was the best choice, we could ever make, to have nice and relaxed holiday. We felt like staying at our own home - with the nice terrace, looking into a wild garden with chicken and cats. Constanca took so much care about everything. She is a heart and soul and keep so much love in every detail, every corner of the cottage. We would love to come back every time, when we'll be in Porto again.
