April 2024 5*

This is must visit place if you are looking best Indian food in Porto. The owner is second generation (Father - Gujarati / Mother - Portuguese) and really doing amazing job. The ambiance is nice and very well decorated.

Food is so good and perfectly blended with spices. Make sure to reserve the place before going as you may need to wait for more than 30-40 mins. The place is very popular and has many regular customers.

Here is my food list:

Veg Samosa * (must) Dal Makani * Paneer Masala * Garlic naan * Mango d’light ** Nimbu ka pani * Mango lassi *

Washroom is very clean and this shows the customer focus and how the hygiene is maintained.

The place is not fully accessible and may need to work on this part. There is one small step at the entrance so you can walk but difficult...

Excellent! Arriving here you immediately get a warm and cosy feeling about this restaurant. Small-ish in size and nicely, but simply decorated. Although not large, it does not feel cluttered or overly furnished with too many tables.

The staff were very pleasant, openly friendly and very accommodating to any specific needs and requests.

As for the food, very good! Indian classics mostly that are well cooked, flavoured and spiced to your taste. A good judge is always the naan bread and it was great, as was the tandoori prawns, fish curry and dahl mahkani!

I would suggest this restaurant offers good value for money; it's not particularly cheap, but you clearly get a better product for your extra cash....

The positive- The waitress was kind enough to let us dine in even though they were fully booked. The decor is tasteful. The negative- The food was disappointing! The onion bhaji was undercooked and had carrots inside. You could barely taste the onions. The dal makhani was bland. We asked for the paneer makhani but the waitress said the sauce would be the same as the dal makhani, so she offered paneer jalfrezi (which wasn't on the menu). The paneer was tasteless and the sauce smelled like fish sauce was added. Also, extremely overpriced. We were so excited to come here because of the good reviews but to be honest, if you want complex, authentic, and good Indian flavors,...

Authentic, delicious taste of home. We love finding a good Indian restaurant in every city and this did not disappoint. They have a great cook, the food was finger licking and the ambiance wonderful. We had the murgh makhani (butter chicken), murgh palak (chicken with spinach), kadi pakoda (vegetable pakora in a yogurt spiced sauce with garlic naan and rice. The only negative was rice was not included with the entree. Would definitely visit again.

We decided to try Mendi since we were staying at the Sheraton close by, and we were not disappointed. Some of the best Indian food we have ever had: the curries are great, and so is the tandoori. The only dish that was disappointing was the Gulab Jambu - definitely avoid that one. We were so impressed with the food that we we r back for dinner a few days later, and will definitely go back should we be in Porto again!
