Just had dinner there. Everything excellent! In particular, the staff were exceptional. Friendly and attentive, they offered good suggestions as well as ensuring we were happy with our meals.
We shared a salad, each of us ordered a pizza, and we shared a very nice bottle of their vinho verde. More than enough for us, and pizza to go for tomorrow's lunch.
The ladies at the table next to us ordered lasagna. They said it was better than any that they had eaten in Italy. We just booked a reservation for tomorrow ... to go try the lasagna! :-)
Dining hint: Definitely book early. The restaurant was fully booked. They had a few open tables available and they tried their best to accommodate walk-ins, but it would be best to book ahead.
Update: Yep! 👍 Definitely glad we returned the next day for the lasagna. We shared a tiramisu to finish off our meal. 😋 Also, we both ordered salads this time. They serve one of the best mixed salads we've ever had. Fresh ingredients and perfectly dressed.
We would go back tomorrow but unfortunately we must depart for home.
Highly recommend the Pizzeria O Galo. Be sure to...

We dined at Pizzeria O Galo twice during our week-long stay at Sentido Galomar:
On the first occasion we had a sharing platter for starter, which was nice and I would recommend, and pizza for main. The pizza was mediocre. Dough was too dense and bland, toppings were ok but with too much cheese.
On the second occasion we had pasta for main course which was much better than the pizza. I would recommend the pasta cappricosa from the specials. We had tiramisu for dessert which was nice but the ladyfingers were a little dry.
Both times, the service was friendly but slow. It felt like the restaurant is understaffed and the waiters, although brilliant, were too stretched to be attentive.
Overall, I would recommend if staying nearby but wouldn’t go out my way to dine there...

A special shout-out to the two servers who took care of us – unfortunately, we didn’t catch their names, but they were incredibly friendly, professional, and made us feel very welcome.
One of the biggest highlights for us was how allergy-friendly the restaurant is. I have a severe peanut allergy, and they handled it with outstanding care and professionalism. The kitchen team was informed even before our arrival, and everything was prepared with great caution. Despite the allergy, we didn’t have to miss out on anything — and the food was absolutely delicious!
Highly, highly...
