A huge thank you to the restaurant for an unforgettable experience! We were on the island and decided to visit this restaurant by chance, and we didn't regret it for a second. From start to finish, everything was simply wonderful!
The most important thing was the host, Alexey, who made our stay special. Not only did he recommend the best dishes from the menu, but he also shared many interesting stories about the island and its traditions. It was so nice to see someone with such warmth and care towards their guests. The dishes were absolutely delicious and truly impressed us!
I especially want to mention the poncha — a traditional drink, and it was just incredible here! We tried poncha at several places on the island, but nowhere else did it have such a rich and harmonious flavor with honey as here. I also have to praise the octopus and the fish soup — each bite was a real pleasure. The octopus was perfectly cooked, and the soup was rich and aromatic.
We're so glad we found this restaurant. It's not only the amazing food but also the attention to detail and the hospitality, which left us with nothing but the best impressions. We will definitely return! 5 stars,...
Read moreFirst of All: They do have the best Garlic Bread on Madeira! Now the Review: We just walked by this place, not to know that this small place would be this good. It's a nice little place with in and outside sitting options. When you sit outside you have a nice view on the ocean. So we walked in after a nice little chat with the owner. We ordered the Garlic Bread, a pepper steak and the Shrimp Curry. The Garlic Bread is a local made Bread with a lot of very savory Butter mixed with a lot of Garlic and Parsley. The pepper steak was soft and perfectly medium. The Shrimp Curry was very balanced in flavour and the shrimp smooth in texture. We drank a Pitcher Sangria with fresh and delicious fruit.
On our second visit (on a Friday) they had a special Menu. We ordered Octupus with Potatoes and scabbard fish with sides of your choice. Both meals were delicat and the quality of the fish and seafood has been very high and fresh. On the Friday we visited the Mare a musician played on the Violine and every seat was taken.
I highly recommend this place! Visit it when you are in Caniço and enjoy the charm...
Read moreWe were pulled by the hand to other restaurants, but we stopped here. I have never regretted that I entered this institution with my family. We tried fish soup, octopus, dumplings, Ukrainian lard with vodka, pancakes with jam, Napoleon cake, alcoholic drink pancho (orange juice + lemon juice + honey + rum). And it was all extremely delicious. In addition, we were not left indifferent by the fact that the owner of the establishment, Inna, came to us, a woman who understands people and how to make people's rest more pleasant. My wife and my daughters and I are very grateful for the warm welcome and the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of extremely pleasant communication! If you want to taste delicious...
