When ever I go on holiday I always try to eat at least 1 local restaurant but then always end back at kfc, mcdonalds or burger King.
1st- we were greeted by a very friendly young man. He welcomed us to eat at a Rede. We could have chosen from about 3 other restaurants, but his warm personality won us over.
2nd- the menu. We wanted seafood (fish) and they had fish! The price was good at €17.95 with as many sides as we wanted. I had Grilled fish and my partner had fried. The garlic bread was AMAZING! As were the Grilled mussels. I had one of the best pina coladas i have had in my life! My partner had the sangria which was very good and got him tipsy. I couldn't fault the menu!
3rd- the service, they poured our glass of sangria whenever the cup was almost empty, they also cleared our empty plates. They are very attentive!
We returned 3 nights out of the 4 we were there. The older gentleman was so lovely and deserves to be mentioned. It's not always you go to a country and the restaurant felt like you were home ❤️
The view of the moon on the ocean was a sight to see!
We will return to Madeira just to eat at A Rede! Thank you guys for giving us an...
Read moreSimple restaurant, excellent food, very nice staff. Once we visited A Rede on the first day we kept coming back during the whole stay (except when we were on day long trips). I can recommend everything I ate here: mussels (tried all the kinds they have), fish of the day, espetada (by far the best out of three places I tried while in Madeira), fish soup, steak on the stone, portuguese paella ..... White Sangria is also worth recommending.
Staff is very friendly and does all they can to provide great service. Vergilio made us welcomed from the start and offered great wine recommendations. His quieter colleague (we unfortunately did not learn his name) paid great attention to setting everything on our table.
Definitely...

We ate here at the beginning of our holiday and were welcomed very hospitably. So much that we celebrated our last evening and the birthday of some of our group members that same night. The owner of the restaurant arranged a vegan cake via the local bakery so I could enjoy it as well, the tables were decorated with all kinds of flowers, picked by the owner himself, and we felt very spoiled that night. The food was very tasty and it was an unforgettable last evening in...
