Should have read the negative comments before visiting. Owner very abusive if you criticize the food. Initially we wanted to go to the Snack Bar next door, but got lured away by the - at this point - charming owner (which seems to be his thing and must clearly be very frustrating for his neighbours). Starters were ok, nothing special, but the sauce for the pasta was bland and the pork fillet dry. There were lumps in the cutlet and the vegetables were boring. Upon expressing our criticism, the formerly friendly owner got aggressive instead of apologizing and accused us of not telling the truth. I know what the answer to my comment will be: that I am stupid and know nothing about good food etc etc., even though I have been to many high quality restaurants all over the world. Had dinner here and ordered two starters and three mains. The starters were average but the mains were really disappointing. The meat was completely overcooked and the sauce was quite bland. The fish also didn't live up to what we ate in Madeira at other restaurants.

PS: In response to the reply. The owner obviously keeps insulting anyone who posts a negative review. I've eaten in restaurants all over the world and I pointed out specifically the shortcomings of the dish when we were there. The pork (which was totally dry) was fused with the Serano ham and there were three cheese cubes on top which didn't even melt. Being aggressive won't change the facts of poor cooking.

PPS: The owner changed the comment and removed the insults (did the same at other reviews. So obviously the push back they got in the comments made them realise that insulting customers is not painting them in...

This is just an average place at best especially considering the prices. The server was fine, he played guitar a bit too much as it made it hard to talk to people.

The food was a huge disappointment. I had the daily special Paella and it was mediocre to bad. The shrimp were poorly cooked and the shell fish were not cleaned properly or at all as there was so much sand in my dish I could have built a beach. Huge turnoff.

Save your money, pass this place up, there are better options all around. It just isn't worth the hassle and poorly...
