Super local place. Ivo runs it by himself. Limited hours and serves the local community with pride. Only open during lunch cause he loves to live his life. Asked why he closes on Sundays and Mondays and he explained the fisherman take a break on the weekends so the freshest fish is sourced on the days he is open.
He cares about his establishment and it really is an awesome restaurant with high quality fish. He took the time to teach me the names of the fish I was eating.
He wouldn't let me eat sardines that got cold and made fresh ones for me even though I insisted that he didn't trouble himself. As of today it was 13.00 Euro for the Rodizio all you can eat fish which consisted of three larger fishes Carapau, Bicas and Dourada and 4 sardines at the end. 2.00 for the salad. And it comes with bread and butter(included), potatoes (included) and a pastel de nata and expresso at the end. I'm not sure if he just gifted the expresso cause he was sweet though. And he let me have a small tasting of the Moscatel of Setubal, sweet desert wine.
This isn't a place that tourists should flock to, as he doesn't want that either, but if you truly enjoy good high quality fish at a friendly local place, come try him out. The place is small, 7 tables, so I can imagine it gets busy at prime times. No way you can get a deal like this in Lisboa.
Only open during lunch 12 to 3 and closed on Sundays and Mondays. Cash only. Located on a sleepy residential...
