Hotel Solaris — Hotel in Setúbal

My wife and I arrived tired and a little stressed in Setubal and in much need of some relaxation. From the 1st moment we walked through the door with our daughter we were looked after by Osvaldo, Rute and the team like family. Honestly the staff are super and a credit to the hotel and their city! So kind and helpful and always available to warm our daughters milk, they also kindly arranged her birthday cake. The hotel is on a beautiful square and with hanging baskets outside each window, only a short walk from some excellent places to eat, the harbour and the town beach and a 10 minute walk from the ferry quay where you can reach Troia. Rooms were very clean and breakfast was nice enough too, overall a wonderful stay, we look forward to returning in the future. Thanks to all the team at Solaris for making our 8 night stay...

Estivemos hospedados no solares 6 noites em pleno mês de Agosto. Como combinado, fomos muito bem recebidos pelo staff. O quarto ( no 3o andar) é muito diferente do que aparece nas fotos e é manifestamente caro (75€/noite com PA) para um quarto minúsculo numas AF mal isoladas, não fosse a existência do AC para nos salvaguardar de uns brutais 45graus. |Existe um drama à volta do tema Arrábida sem Carros: ninguém nos explicou que era possível levar o carro através da estrada alta que contorna a Arrábida até ao Portinho ou a praia do Creiro! Existe uma profunda desorganização na cidade à volta desse erro de gestão política, que nos obrigou a gastar 25€ numa ida de tuc-tuc até a praia dos Galapinhos. A estupidez quase pidesca das cancelas na praia da Figueirinha fez com que ficássemos mesmo de tuc-tuc turístico barrados por um GNR incompetente quase 30 minutos! |Depois disso, o autocarro é caro ( quase 9€ para 2 pessoas ida e volta ), pouco frequente, lotado, e na Figueirinha não existem condições para apanhar o BUS, uma vez que não existem sombras!! Não existem identificações das praias nem das paragens e as pessoas fazem filas durante 30 min ao sol com 43 graus para sair da praia num BUS sem AC! O mais inconcebível destas medidas, e mesmo compreendendo o pânico do estacionamento abusivo, é que as motas essas podem andar livremente, o que nos leva a pensar que a medida não tem em conta factores ecológicos mas meramente administrativos! É profundamente aberrante. Soubemos da existência da possibilidade de ir ao Creiro no nosso 4o dia ! Antes disso fomos a Tróia e ao Meco. No fundo o hotel devia aconselhar os turistas a irem à Casa da Baía ( a 40 metros!) informarem-se do tema Arrábida sem Carros! Vale pelo Staff e pela...

I was there for two nights on a business trip. The hotel is nice at first sight, the staff is very polite. Breakfast is OK, the preparation could be in bigger portions, but fine. There is only instant coffee. But there are a few disadvantages. First of all, there is very limited parking place and the surrounding streets are very narrow, makes maneuvering very difficult.
