Wonderful! Great food & service.
Discovered this gem via Google Maps during our visit to Setubal. We were able to get a reservation by contacting the restaurant through their Facebook page. (Reservations are probably recommended as I think some without a reservation were turned away because they were full this night.)The food was interesting and excellent, the service was attentive, the ambiance was attractive, and the prices were reasonable. Best of all the owner went out of his way to make people feel welcome. On our first night in Setubal we ended up in a different restaurant with good reviews that ended up feeling like a tourist trap. (No bueno!) We found Decor & Salteado on our second night and immediately found it was a much more original menu with a unique spin on local dishes and a very good service experience. We enjoyed our first visit to Decor & Salteado so much that we decided to come back one more time before we left Setubal. (It was an easy 15-20 minute walk from our hotel near the fish market, but there is also plenty of free parking near the restaurant.) We ordered completely different dishes both nights, but everything we ate was delicious. We wish Bruno and his team...
Read moreDecor e Salteado is a charming two-story restaurant in Setúbal that offers a delightful dining experience. The cozy and intimate atmosphere, coupled with the friendly staff, creates a welcoming ambiance. We opted for the Bife do Lombo and the Timbale de Polvo, both of which were exquisitely prepared and beautifully presented. The flavors were rich and complex, leaving us thoroughly impressed. The portion sizes were just right, ensuring we were satisfied without feeling overly full. The restaurant leans towards the upscale side, with an average price per person around €37. However, we felt the quality of the food and the overall experience justified the cost. For dessert, we indulged in a sweet treat that perfectly concluded our meal. Overall: Decor e Salteado is a fantastic choice for a special occasion or a memorable evening with friends. The combination of delicious food, attentive service, and a cozy atmosphere makes it a standout dining destination in Setúbal. Recommendations: ● Make a reservation in advance, especially during peak hours. Two different reservation intervals are available. ● Try the Bife do Lombo or the Timbale de Polvo - they are both highly recommended. ● Save room...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience yesterday.
I booked a table with them in advance to celebrate my Birthday. When making the reservation, I was talking to a guy who seemed to be the owner of the place, Bruno if I am not mistaken.
I have booked a specific table on the second floor next to the window because I care about the table location and the whole experience and that was my favorite spot in this restaurant.
The guy was excited to learn that I am making the reservation for my BD, started congratulating me and promised the table will be reserved after my name, with the candles on it, etc. Was extremely nice and charming.
When we showed up at the agreed time at the restaurant, it turned out a bigger group of visitors was sitting at the table that was booked for me and my birthday dinner and the waiter explained that they gave them the table because they were a bigger group of people... We just left and clearly my birthday experience was ruined.
It was extremely disappointing. It's a shame when people choose money over people and lack integrity to stick to their promises. Never going to that place again or recommending it...
