Entrance is free! A fantastic place to be face-to-face with ancient artifacts. You can see and run your fingers in the grooves of stone menirs from the Neolithic times and marble tombstones from Roman era (one tombstone of a 9-year-old roman slave girl, translated to "May the Earth Be Light On You"). Lots of artifacts from the ancient history of the Setúbal area, going back to the Stone Age, Neolithic, Copper, Bronze, Iron...Roman, Moors, .etc. I found the roman fine dinner ware and glasses interesting, hard to imagine how they made such intricate things. Il Museo Archeologico ed Etnografico di Setúbal è una vera perla per chi ama la storia, la cultura locale e le sorprese inaspettate. L'esposizione è curata con grande attenzione e offre un viaggio affascinante nella storia della regione, dai reperti preistorici fino alle tradizioni popolari più recenti.

La parte archeologica è ricca di reperti ben conservati, con pannelli esplicativi chiari anche per i non esperti. La sezione etnografica è altrettanto coinvolgente, con oggetti della vita quotidiana, strumenti, costumi e testimonianze della cultura tradizionale di Setúbal e del suo entroterra.

Personale molto gentile e disponibile, pronto a rispondere alle domande con passione e competenza. L’atmosfera è tranquilla e accogliente, perfetta per una visita rilassante e istruttiva.
