Ferribote — Restaurant in Setúbal

The food was good, average, value for money. Better the fish than the meat. Beer was not good, light and missing that freeze point you need during summer. Wine was average. Then, regarding the service, I must say it was very disappointing. The staff wasn’t very friendly, except for one person (we didn’t get his name, it was a young dark hair boy who was very nice). The waiter who served us was very messy. He first said that they have a type of beer and some dishes, but then they did not. That mess everything around. He ended bringing 2 extra dishes of sardines. He bring some type of Portuguese cheese without saying that has an extra cost. He said every dish came with French fries; however all the fish came with boiled potatoes, so then we ended ordering extra French fries. We were on vacations so we didn’t say anything, so as to enjoy the moment. Nevertheless, the reason I’m giving this restaurant one star is that, when he brought the bill the only option to pay for it was by cash. Even though we had checked when we arrived that cards were welcome. They said there was a problem with the PostNet/system and suggested us going to an ATM, which of course requires a extra fee for not being in your country. Came here by Ship and was the place we were dropped by the taxi.Walked around and found this was the only restaurant which seemed open with good lively crowd which signalled that the food must be better than the other four which were empty. Not at all disappointed.The Hostess was sweet and helpful.She patiently took her time to suggest us the menu and take our order.The food was excellent.the seafood was fresh though the meat platter was not that upto The mark.The house wine was good too. Visitámos o restaurante ao almoço de domingo. Foi pedido peixe grelhado que veio para a mesa sem acompanhamento só a meio da refeição foi dado a guarnição. Os pratos das restantes pessoas só chegaram quando os primeiros já tinham comido, estamos a falar de cerca de 20 min entre a entrega de cada prato (eramos 7 pessoas e pedimos apenas 3 pratos distintos). Tudo o que pedíamos para a mesa ficava esquecido, tendo que relembrar recorrentemente os empregados do pedido, como por exemplo as bebidas que nunca vieram atempadamente. Foram pedidos dois bitoques, que constam na carta, tiveram que ser devolvidos porque a carne não estava própria para ser consumida e ainda referiram que se quiséssemos fariam novamente outro bife mas a carne seria a mesma. Foi também pedido arroz de tamboril mas ficamos sem perceber se era um arroz de tamboril como pedido ou uma canja translucida de arroz branco com peixe e bocados de laranja por cima. Foi a segunda vez que estivemos no restaurante, na primeira comemos mista de peixe grelhado e correu bem, depois desta experiencia e da postura super desagradável da empregada que nos atendeu não recomendamos o restaurante. De referir que pedimos para falar com o chefe de sala ou alguém responsável e não nos foi concedido o pedido.
