Bar Soluna — Restaurant in Silves

Beautiful location on the rooftop with amazing views! We came here for food and drinks, very reasonable prices.

But, you notice they overrushed to open this summer. No menu's at that moment which resulted in limited options for food and drinks. Not the whole staff knows what they are doing, we ordered 3 cocktails but 2 where served with "old" Coke so the carbonation was gone. For dinner we ordered the tuna steak and 2 times the Black Angus steak. The tuna was great and delicious 🔝 But the steak, you can't call that a Black Angus... It looked great but that's it.

On a positive note: the waiter who served us was very friendly and told us all the options they currently had for food and drinks. He also excused himself in behalve of the bar/restaurant that not everything was on point. So he alone for his service deserves 2 stars. The other star is for the location, it's magnificent!

This could be a high roller location if they put in more time and effort to get it right before summer. In Armacao there are plenty of bars at the beach to go to so if you open something new like this and with such a good location, it should be top notch from day one.

So guys at Soluna, put in that extra effort the get everything on point for next summer, from bar to kitchen and I'm sure Soluna will be the place to be in...

I really wanted to love this place but sadly had a disappointing visit. We popped in for a drink and marvelled at how pretty Soluna was, so straight away booked a table for x6 for the following Monday. We were first in the diary so the lady reserved the best table for us. We turned up on the Monday we had booked for to find the that our booking had been put in the diary on the wrong day by the staff member. We were offered a different table, but it wasn't what we had requested or been booked for. No one bothered to find a suitable solution, we were just left hanging about and felt like we were discarded. The only reason I feel comfortabe writing this is because I have worked in hospitality for 30 years, and I'm first to defend fellow food and beverage staff and establishments, but we were left to feel really disheartened. No one bothered to offer us a table on an alternative night, they all just disappeared. We would have probably accepted that, but we felt our business was not good enough for them, so left. We had a wonderful time here. On point: Service; we had a wonderful server who always had a smile despite the crowd. We arrived early to grab a table to watch the sunset; it’s hard to beat this location. The caipirinha were delicious. We had the smash burgers and they were juicy and delicious. Someone (ie the boss) really, really, has a thing for “Silence” by Delerium feat. Sarah McLachlan!! Downers: for a while, someone turned the choons upto bangin’ loud, instead of nicely in the background (hence the 3* for atmosphere). At peak times, more floor staff is required.
