Bollywood Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Silves

Really nice place to eat in this town. Friendly staff, delicious meals! I felt happy here.

I'm lactose intolerant and this was the first restaurant with employees who knew the menu so well that they could tell me wether or not I could eat a dish without having to pay their toilet an unpleasant visit. I even had options, which is unbelievably exceptional. I ordered a chicken karahi which was delicious.

The staff speaks English well and were sincerely friendly. I felt welcome and happy here. Definitely going back for a second visit during my vacation.

Update: the A Lota restaurant next to it serves delicious meals as well, there were also lactose-free options and the staff were nice too. We visited Bollywood again at our last night here and the food was again delicious and the staff as nice as the last time. With the closure of the Indian we normally visit when in Armacao, we decides to try here again as it had been over 10 years since our last visit.

This restaurant does not look like much from the outside but is nicely laid out inside. Outside tables are beside the road so passing traffic might be a distraction for some.

The menu is extensive so there is plenty to choose from along with several "specials" on the wall. A tourist menu is displayed on the outside (at the time we visited - not available all year) but this was not mentioned when the menus were given to us.

The beverages were reasonably priced.

I had a Mix Balti (in a silver "bucket") and ordered expressively without Seafood which means out of four options, one would expect lamb and chicken in it. It came with chicken and prawns. Really tasty, but not as planned. The waiter talked and asked very, very quick we recognized as being pushy. Until we had a look at the Drink's menu, we've been asked for our choice a couple of time. Maybe us germans are just not used to that. The same with the food order. There is plenty of options for everyone side dish and we'd cherished a little help or suggestion.
