After nearly week in Armação de Pêra myself and my partner happened upon this amazing restaurant. Up until that point, we had been underwhelmed by the food in general in the area, but we were so impressed by our lunch in Pera Bistro Bar, we returned later that day for dinner.
At lunch, we sampled the tapas menu; sharing a meat and cheese platter, some bruchetta and goats cheese toast. The food was simply incredible, the meat and cheese platter was so fresh, as was the bruchetta and the goats cheese toast was to die for. At the end of the meal, we chatted with Aleks the co-owner, and we were blown away by how friendly she was.
We were so impressed that after a spell of sitting on the beach, we returned in the evening for dinner. This time we had fish cakes, which were out of this world, chicken skewers, which were plentiful and delicious and for our main we had the beef burger and the fish and chips burger. Both were outstanding.
The other owner Paulo, served us and apologised that we may have to wait a little longer that usual because he was short staffed, but he didnt need to apologise at all, the food came in a timely manner and we couldn't fault anything about the food quality and especially not the friendly service. Paulo even rounded off our meal with a free shot of whiskey, which is always welcome!
We would like to thank Aleks and Paulo for their friendly service and beautiful food. Our only regret is that we discovered their establishment too late in our holiday, otherwise we would have definitely returned.
If you are visiting Armação de Pêra, Pera Bistro Bar has to be top...
Read moreWe visited Pera 2 years ago after accidentally stumbling upon it. It was the best mistake we made that trip.
Two years later we returned. Our first attempt at a meal here was unsuccessful, not because of the venue, but our teething baby! We had to leave as he was upset. Having had to leave so abruptly, we were very pleasantly surprised when Paolo the owner went out of his way to WhatsApp and make sure our little man was ok. A small gesture that meant so much!
We managed to return a few nights later and were so so glad we did. The food is phenomenal and so reasonably priced. The ribs and the prawns were the standout. The wine carafe is also a great price and was so enjoyable as was the Margarita cocktail.
Aside from the food and drinks, the atmosphere and the child friendly nature, something we didn’t experience in other locations was a breath of fresh air.
We can’t wait to return to Armaço again to visit the restaurant....
Read moreFantastic find. We do not know the area at all, Having only been to Armação de pera, once before. We stopped to look at the billboard menu and whilst unsure we decided to stay for a drink. Paulo one of the owners served us and was polite and friendly. We had a few drinks and he informed us, that food was available from 7pm. I can honestly say, we made the right decision to stay. The staff are amazing, so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We chose our food and and in total had 6 different Tapas, all cooked perfectly and a nice bottle of Papa Figos, to complement the food. If you want to try no frills but great food and service, this should be on your list of places to visit. In value terms, 3 small beers 1 Fanta 1 Strawberry Daiquiri 1 Bottle of Papa Figos 6 Tapas All for under €50,...
