The style of the restaurant is nice. Parking space on the very narrow streets wasn't easy. The service was bad though. The lady wasn't happy with our choices and we didn't follow her recommendations, which she made us notice. Unfortunately, we felt that the service lady knew what we wanted and she was disappointed, when we decided against her and went our own way. We felt patronised (from the moment we ordered), which didn't feel good being guests in a restaurant. Maybe it was because we could speak Portuguese and knew what was on the menu and we wanted to eat some distinctive dishes instead of going for her recommendations, which other guests (tourists) did. In the end she forgot to bring a bottle of beer we ordered. We didn't wanted to remind her of this, because we just wanted to eat and didn't want her and her energy close to us. The check she put on the table without looking at us. About the food. We ordered 3 things and 1 was good, 1 was nice, but lacked substance (especially for the price we paid) and the last was ok. It was too much food for us and the cook came to clean our table (because the service lady was helping other guests) and she wasn't very happy, that we didn't eat all of the meat. Being kind of a Portuguese Tapas restaurant, we felt that the prices were too high. We have eaten in similar restaurants and the prices there were not so high and the food excellent. In the end we didn't enjoy this experience that much and...
Read moreJust had the strangest experience at this restaurant. Went in on a Friday night and it was totally empty. Had a feeling to just leave but unfortunately didn’t follow it. The service was strange and aggressive. When I asked for details about particular dishes on the menu that I wasn’t familiar with, I just got a lecture about how they serve traditional Portuguese food. Ok. In the end ordered a bottle of wine and 3 dishes: a salad, pica pau, and bachalau a bras. First of all, the wine there’s no selection, no menu. Just brings out a cheap looking bottle and says it’s great. Ok. The salad and pica pau were both tasty but overpriced for the portion. Then the bachalau. She brought a dish of roasted potatoes with breadcrumbs on it. I said where is the fish? She proceeds to speak for 10 mins about the regional dishes of Portugal, and if I want fish I should go to the seaside. In the end she shows the price, 60 euros and refuses to show an itemized bill. 60 euros for a tiny salad, potatoes and pica pau. And a bottle of Wine that looks like it came from the petrol station. She also made us pay in cash. Please—avoid this restaurant at all costs. One of my top worst dining...
Read moreSecond star is only because food was OK. Place appears nice (in a small town way). But only go there if you want to eat blindfolded and mistreated. The waitress was soooo rude and would not explain what the dishes were, a mix of things she would say for any dish (there's a user's photo of the menu, please take a look at that before going, and see what you understand from it). How can or be a sin wanting to know what you are ordering? Well, she was annoyed and wouldn't respond, even after insisting. Every now and then she seemed to fake kindness but her face would not follow. I guess she thinks everyone goes there because they want to try their fantastic (?) food... eaten , not our case. In any case, it would have helped if she was nicer. I guess she was tired? Only reason we didn't leave was every other restaurant was closed. Would never go back. Ps: if you don't like olives, let them know in advance , they charge 1,5 eu for them when you sit down even if you...
