After a wonderful day in Sintra with lots of walking, great views surrounded by lush nature, we were really hungry and discovered this typical little restaurant. It is a bit hidden in a side street. You shouldn't be put off by the simple façade, because inside it's typically Portuguese and cosy and the food is simply delicious. The portions are sufficient, even for hikers who didn't have lunch. The waiters are very friendly and speak English, and the menu is also available in English. There are typical Portuguese dishes, even the Francesinha, which is more typical in the region around Porto. We had that and it was delicious. It's best to ask for extra sauce when ordering, then the sauce will definitely be enough. For dessert we had the "dessert of the house" (Doce da Casa) and the Pudim a Caramelo. Because it was so good, we have even been here twice for dinner now. What's especially great is that the restaurant is open from noon until evening (very few restaurants in Sintra are), so you can have dinner as early as 4pm or 5pm or 6pm. That's incredibly early for Portuguese people, who often don't go out for dinner until 7pm, 8pm or 9pm, but for us tourists...
Read moreI would recommend this place to everyone. We went here on our way back to Lisbon, after a long day of hiking Capo da Roca. It's a nice little local place. Looking at al the pictures on the walls i assume a family business. When we came in my girlfriend and I where the only customers. The service was nice and very friendly. The staff does speak basic english but we also used google translate for some questions which they didn't mind. They tried their best to help and answer our questions and helped us order perfectly. We ordered the Rabbit and the Salmon. The food was perfectly prepared and the portions we got where nice and big. Perfect to fill up after a long day. The prices are really affordable, especially comparing to the portions.

Read moreThe mixed grilled black pork dish is highly recommended. The Mascarpone cheese and caramelized almonds for dessert. Totally love it! This place is so buzzing during lunch so, if you don't have a reservation, just wait a bit and table will be available. They don't speak much English but it's ok, go to their website and look at the food photos and decide whether u like the look of it and give it a try. I took the risk and love the tasty black pork 😋 and the dessert was also awesome. The staff are friendly, just use google translate to communicate and you'll be served with a smile. Highly recommended if you want to try a non-touristy restaurant 🙏 Obrigado to the restaurant for serving such good food at a...
