Loureiro Food&drinks — Restaurant in Sintra

The truth is that the experience in this restaurant has been a shame. The waiter having free tables had us standing without offering us a drink or anything to snack on for 35 minutes in front of the dirty table, although we can think that he was busy and that he really couldn't do anything else. Ok.

After waiting to be seated we waited another 25 minutes for our order to be taken. When we ordered, we ordered a salmon skewer with vegetables, which was not bad at all, and two cod with all the illusion of being able to eat a good cod in Portugal.

When the cod arrived, the smell was very strong, the texture was bad, and the truth was that it could not be eaten. After asking the waiter if the cod was fresh he said yes when at the end of the meal when he took the plate away because we couldn't eat it a bit, and it was whole without even asking us if we wanted anything else, he came back from the kitchen and told us maybe It was a little older cod...

However, when we say we're leaving without eating, he brings us the bill and tells us that we have to pay for the cod. So after the anger we had, we paid and left the place.

I never write negative reviews of any place, but the truth is that after paying almost €70 and not eating, I had to...

First and last time at this restaurant. On 26.01.2020, me and a couple of friends of mine went for lunch at this place and requested 2 doses of bean stew cuttlefish. On delevry only 1 dose was poorly served. As we were still hungry we ordered 1 more dose of fish stew that took 30 minutes to be delivered to our table and that was extremely salted when served. After finishing we waited for 1 hour and 5 minutes for them to bring us the dessert list. Obviously by then me and my friends were getting very upset with this poor service. We got up from our table straight to the counter and requested our bill that took another 15 minutes to be presented. We manifested our discontent with the owner and for our surprise it was charged on the bill, 2 doses of cuttlefish when only 1 was served. Plus one half dose when only one was served. They apoligized and stated that next time they will serve us better. Not in this life! It was requested that the bill had the fiscal number on it, they pretended that didn't ear it. One more thing, the couple friend of mine have already come here before and had been served well. Not today...

Fantastic fresh fish and seafood, either grilled or cooked in other traditional ways. The feijoada de choco (cuttlefish bean stew) is to die for!!! Staff always kind, helpful and smiling. Very good price/ quality relationship too. In one word, genuine!

I wrote this review five years ago, I’m still a regular at this restaurant, and still haven’t had a bad experience. Food is always good, staff is always friendly and helpful, and homemade deserts keep getting better. I’ve read a few negative reviews and cannot recognize any of what is said....
