Desperate for something edible to enjoy (after a disappointing dinner at Barmacia), I came here for dessert and tea. They were out of the two only desserts that interested me (wondering who of the 6 other guests ate them all…). The waitress highly recommended I take the apple crumble with caramel ice cream instead, but neither the apple nor the ice cream had any interesting taste and the crumble tasted distinctly stale. The milk I had asked for with the tea got forgotten, and when I kindly requested it again, it took them about 5 minutes to heat a big jug of milk. (Btw, it always irks me when restaurants serve tea with hot rather than cold milk and when the tea bag is served separately from water that isn’t hot anymore). Why does this place get 3 and not 2 stars? Because it still provided a slightly better experience than Barmacia, and the waitress did try her best. Is mass tourism in summer ruining all these places - and giving them...
Read moreThe rudest waiter there. Owner needs to take note. No one should ever go to this restaurant. I am Portuguese and speak English as well. The male waiter who had glasses assumed I did not speak Portuguese and treated me and my family very badly. We walked out and he yelled at us. While we were seated waiting, after 10 minutes, I asked about drinks, he yelled at me and said he told us 45 minutes. People who came in after were being waited on. Very upsetting! PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE! He yelled at a co-worker and was rude to other customers who were not speaking English. Owner needs to fire this man! No excuse. We were very kind to him. He even slammed the door shut on us as he was yelling that we should speak Portuguese. I responded in my fluent Portuguese to his surprise! I have never experienced this in Portugal. Shame on you and BIG MISTAKE! I am making phone calls about...
Read moreExtremely understaffed so of course super slow and overall terrible service. Food wasn’t good, the kids plates off the “kids menu” took an hour to arrive just to see that they barely had any substance. The so called “burger on the plate”, if you can even call it that, was literally just the patty, could of added some veggies... and the plate with literally just frozen nuggets and fries?? even if its busy this is not a “dish” (if you can even call it that) that should be taking over an hour… for hungry kids.. So heads up to the parents maybe not your best bet.
The staff themselves you could see were visibly stressed which was sad to see. However, generally everything else was ok enough like the seating and location is quite lovely. Still, personally we probably won’t be coming again but perhaps we may have just also...
