Five stars for the shrimp! My partner and I tried the shrimp, cod, and octopus. I didn’t see the shrimp on the menu, but I just asked the waiter for it since I had seen some pictures. My favorite things by far were the shrimp and the bread. The shrimp was extremely flavorful, most because of the sauce. It’s a garlicky, salty, and acidic sauce, and it tastes amazing. The bread is great too, and tastes like they bake it fresh. The cod and octopus were also pretty good, but I liked the shrimp a lot more. Both the cod and octopus were not that flavorful, and tasted better when dipped in the shrimp sauce. This place is a great deal too, you got a lot of bang for your buck. It’s also quite popular with the locals, we came around 1230 on a Monday and the huge spade was almost fully packed.

My friends and I had such a lovely experience at this restaurant. We were recommended this place as an accessible restaurant for folks who want to try some local Portuguese food in Sintra. The owner had chatted with us because he had lived in Boston previously. He and his staff made us feel so welcome! The food was delicious as well! We had octopus, cuttlefish, and the fried cod, with everything was cooked to perfection. Try the house Ginjinha if you have the chance, or the lunch specials which were highly recommended. Such an excellent pick if you want an unfussy, local dinner spot. Thank you for the great experience!

Amazing experience, top class food at a local neighbourhood restaurant at a very low price . Staff is amazing, especially if you are English speakers, ask for John Gabriello, what a great man, he treated us like royalty. Especially at lunchtime, I didn’t take pictures, but a 3 course meal (vegetable soup, barbecue sardines with veggies and a slice of red velvet cake) plus a pint of beer €9.50. Some of the best food I’ve ever had. The drinks in the pictures are local drinks Bagaso and Ginja.

Great personal service, huge portions, very tasty food at a reasonable price! We passed up three overpriced restaurants with the same menus in the historic center, ubered back to our apartment, and walked to this local gem. What a great choice for our last night in Portugal! They brought us homemade ginjinha that blew away the cough syrup we were served the night before. We will be eating leftovers for breakfast.

I have visited here from Lisboa.. today afternoon. And I ordered Polvo Lagareiro with Pão, olive and beer. It was perfect dish and the price was also affordable, I think. There were two polvos cooked with olive oil, onion, garlic and potatoes. The guy who served my table was cool and polite. Thanks for giving me good memory. At sometime..I will visit again with my friends. Até logo

Get off the beaten path and check out this local worker's diner. Being very busy at lunchtime is a good sign. Great food with large portions, great price, great atmosphere. I had the pork knuckle. It's a locals joint. And if you're lucky to get 'Ricardo' to serve you, your visit will be complete.
