Our friends in Sintra tipped us off (and drove us there - it’s a sod to find, and a mad hard walk) to this perfect little gem. Free to enter, absolutely beautiful layout, friendly staff, winner! You’ll rarely see such a variety of different bonsai anywhere in one place and the quality is totally off the scale. Some of the trees have been meticulously cared for since 1929. Yes, you read that right! Recommended.

A unique experience with lovely clean rooms and - allowing for my own lack of Portuguese (Duh!) - lovely staff and a hassle-fre stay. Perfect if your relatively ok with walking. I used it as a base to travel up to the palace and Moorish castle. (Plenty of transport too however if that's your style.) Highly recommended and have already given all details out to friends for future reference.

Luz do sol!

As a trees, plants and garden lover, I truly enjoyed being a guest here! Love and attention are present everywhere. It’s important to take your time to appreciate the collection and the atmosphere — to touch the zen, you need to slow down. Walk slowly, gently feed the koi fish, sit on a bench and listen to the sound of the wind in the treetops, watch the sunlight reflected in a spider’s web, breathe in the natural, complex scent of the air — filled with wood, humidity, and a sense of antiquity. I was disappointed that Sintra was closed during my entire stay, but the bonsai garden fully made up for it. Especially altogether with the fresh, windy days that added even more charm to the garden. I even had the brave idea to create my first bonsai tree!

I hope to come back one day.

My respect and gratitude to Marcos and his team for this experience. Wishing you strength and courage as you continue to develop this beautiful place — may each step bring even more harmony and...

Opinión sobre Zen Museu do Bonsai Appartamento:
