Food outside the central lisbon is so much better. I wonder what lisboans think tourists like to eat. What appears to be a chain eatery here is tucked away from the high density tourists spots around the train station. That means there are far more local people in the neighborhood. I couldn’t stand the mob of tourists and I desperately wanted to restore some sense of normal living. This eatery fit the bill.
The omelet with mushroom was hot and delicious (I wished the portion was larger); the heap of rice was seasoned well with something. I couldn’t tell: maybe butter and salt and a mystery spice. I was disappointed at first when the plate came out because I don’t usually eat plain white rice: not only is it empty calorie of pure sugar, but also it is flavorless. Not this one. I devoured this.
Capuccino was made of real coffee! I had so-called capuccino in a couple of places in central lisboa. That wasn’t made of real coffee and tasted pure white sugar and nothing else.
