I must say this was probably the best restaurant i was fortunate to visit during my holidays in Cabanas de Tavira. There are a lot of good options but D.Ines gathers all the main points for me: Friendly, customer caring staff Lot of room and tables Open air option to dine Really out of this world traditional portuguese seafood, fish, meat, cuisine!
It begins with the booking, i tried to book for the same day and this was my mistake...of course, fully booked, however was lucky enough becouse they have this priority waiting list if you call and give them your name. So when we arrived, we just had to wait 10 min. The staff was very friendly, found us a good table and the order was quite quick taking in consideration the restaurant was really full.
The food...well starting with probably the most amazing Ameijoas a Bulhão Pato i ever ate! To the main dish which was Terra e Mar na Pedra! Guys...this is sooooo good, they bring you a plater with lots of fish and meat, different varieties for you to try, all raw! Then you get this really hot rock where you cook everything yourself! Its surprisingly easy and sooo delicious! Do check the video i sent in attach! Please consider that they say its for 2 but in my opinion its really good enough for 3 at least! 😁
Its an average cost for the delicious food you eat, its a really must have experience in Cabanas!
Thank you so...
Read moreLast night we visited Dona Ines for the first time and it was very very disappointing. Grilled salmon was still raw and taken back to the kitchen and served again partly black in small cutted awful looking pieces. We asked new piece and again served partly raw. This was enough and we refused them a third chance. Food of the other was already cold and taste was gone.We live now several years here and this never happened at OCarocho in Altura, Sabores de Ria in Cabanas or AdoRui in Fuseta, where the quality is always consistent very good and pricing even lower. One waiter seem to be proud to mention to us that they won´t charge the salmon, but no serious apologies or any drink as compensation was offered. Even the bica after had to be paid. Many waiters working here and no one has an own area, each waiter is serving in every corner, so no connection is build up with the guests. Other issue is the hot-stone used at other tables. When guests at nearby table use the hot-stone its too smoky and too smelly, which is very very very unpleasant and causing immediate coughing. Several guests asked for other table to avoid this. Sorry, we know it´s not easy to prepare consistent food, but this was a serious quality disaster and impolite attitude...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic place. One of the best we have eaten at in Cabanas. As mentioned in other reviews, we, a group of 9, were seated very quickly in a busy restaurant. We were attended to in good time, and had the opportunity to order food and drinks not too long after we sat down. The menus include three or four different languages, which is helpful for tourists. The food is split into two kitchens, with the pizzas looking to be made separately. All food is made in house, including the pizza bases, and is reasonably priced considering the quality of food on offer. Portion sizes are absolutely huge here, very generous, which is good if you're hungry. The "Earth and sea on a stone" for two could easily feed three or more people with a few extra portions of chips. Service was very good here, and the staff were very friendly and offered personal reccommendations. In the evening we were treated to a very enthusiastic acoustic band. I'm not sure if these were related to the restaurant in any way, but they did add a jolly mood to the place. Very good overall, and I'd recommend anyone reading this visit...
