Tucked Away & Totally Unforgettable | Tasquinha do Bruno
After spending the day at Ilha da Fuseta, an easygoing beach full of local folks, clear waters, and just the right amount of quiet. We hopped off the little ferry with that "we went to the beach " hunger.
We werenât in the mood for the usual tourist spots on the main drag, so we drifted through the back alleys, just letting our instincts guide us. Thatâs when we noticed this charming terrace, set with some of the most inventive tables weâd ever seen. Old Pfaff sewing machines given a second life as dinner tables. So clever. That's what's Up-Cycling is about!
We settled in and ordered:
đŠȘ Clams so fresh and tasty, we had to ask for round two. đ€ Shrimp swimming in garlic and olive oil, bold and full of zing. đ Tuna, simple and honest, just the way you hope itâll be. đ Chicken glazed in honey, a cozy balance of sweet and savory. đ Tomato salad, ripe and refreshing like summer itself.
What made Tasquinha do Bruno so special wasnât just the food. it was the feeling. Like youâd stumbled on someoneâs backyard gathering and they said, âCome on in.â The cook and the staff were so nice and sweet
Itâs the kind of place you think about long after...
Read moreNo WIFI? Nice, friendly place, with small tapas bites menu, draught beers, good gin selection and nice wines. Chilled , laid back and relaxed atmosphere. Great helpful and friendly staff /Owners who run the bar and prepare the food. Great concept and a place like this is much needed in Santa Luzia. However, on the down side and being critical. Would benefit tremendously from a change of seats. Extremely uncomfortable, un inviting and not designed for sitting on for very long. Inside area does have one or two slightly more comfortable seats, but you have to be lucky to get one. A good quirky, modern idea but not very practical and certainly not built for sitting in comfort, relaxing or staying very long before moving on to somewhere with more comfortable seats. Shame! An area for improving and we are certain it would be a good investment that would see more passers by taking a seat and becoming customers, rather than walking past.A place you really want to use, but are put off by the seats. A shame as the place is so much better. Please make it more comfortable...
Read moreArrived in Santa Lucia late, 10ish, found this gem of a place near where we were staying in the square by the church. Didn't know what we wanted so asked Vanda and Amadeu to choose 8 tapas and we were blown away with the choice. Flaming sausage, spicy prawns, peppers and cheese, dried tuna, sardines the food was fantastic, we had beer to start but this was soon followed by some of their selections of gins all rather large measures we stayed till late and had a ball. We went back on our last night and it lived up to and surpassed our 1st night experience. If you are in Santa Lucia you must seek out this hidden gasto tapas and gin bar I know you won't be disappointed with the food, drink and the warmth and friendliness of Vanda and Amedeu who will do everything they can to make your experience...
