I rarely write reviews. And if I write, then when I really liked it! But here I can't be silent... I found this restaurant based on reviews and really liked the place where the restaurant is located - it's beautiful! We were there for dinner yesterday and were totally disappointed with everything :( except for the lovely place... On the website and in the schedule of the restaurant, it is written that restaurant opens at 6 p.m., we called the day before to order a table on the terrace, we were refused, they said that the terrace is not reserved, come at 6 p.m. and you will be seated in the order of the queue... We were at 6:10-6:15pm, the place opened but the waiter said they were closed until 7pm....then said until 6:30pm...we asked why it says 6pm everywhere and you don't let in? The waiter said ok come in but we will start serving you after 6:30pm. We entered, everywhere was dirty, napkins, chopsticks, food were lying on the floor. In the toilet, there is a full bucket of garbage and toilet paper on the floor... Apparently they didn't have time to clean it before the opening🤷🏻♀️ other people started coming in after us and also sitting in this dirt... the same waiter then rudely answered us. We ordered non-alcoholic beer, he said he didn't have it, and then brought it to other tables. We got a long hair in the food, the sushi did not taste very fresh:( We ordered extra ginger and wasabi, the waiter brought ginger and said that wasabi was no available more, but brought it to other tables. Some sushi was impossible to eat, so we left somewhere 5 pieces, went to pay (at the exit) and that waiter ran over, took what was left on our table, ran to the cashier and showed the cashier that we didn't finish and we have to pay extra for each piece. We are absolutely non-conflictual people, we always leave a tip…but not this time…yesterday we had to explain why we will not pay anything extra. Very sad because I really wanted to go here to enjoy the view, good food and...
Read moreThe first time I went the Salmon was slimy and the Tuna had massive veins running throughout it. It had just opened so I gave it a try again last night. After taking your first order, for all you can eat, the staff basically disappear and I had to ask, to reorder my second round. Then, as it was 10:30, I asked what time they closed and was informed, 11:00. At that point they started clearing the terrace of chairs and proceeded to dump and scrape all the terrace chairs, loudly, right in the area I was sitting. I was literally being blocked in and I asked the staff member if they were conscious of their behaviour what I received from the young Asian server, (other ethnic staff members on the floor) he looked at me stupefied and then laughed when I asked if he was serious about the noise and the interruption of me attempting to continue my meal. Based on this exchange, I immediately packed up my belongings, cut my meal short and went to the owner to lodge a complaint. They acted ignorant to my claim, saying, only sorry. When I asked how they would compensate for the horrible experience they stated I could receive a 3 euro refund on a 18 euro meal. I was halfway finished and they refused any other form of recourse. It was not about the money, it was about their ignorant attitude. They offer mediocre fish, a limited assortment and abhorrent service. Cabanas has Sabores Asiáticos and Tavira has Bartõ, much better quality and extremely friendly and efficient service, overall. The owners are disgusting individuals, in my opinion and the sushi is well below par,...
Read moreOkay, you are eating Japanese style food in Portugal so your expectations should not be high to start with....but this restaurant has no clue about what they are doing. Fresh fish is everywhere in Portugal...so how this restaurant managed to find such a limited variety of poor quality fish is quite an achievement in itself. Sashimi: small slices but way too thick. Fat rectangles, not delicate slices. Sushi: Odd pairings (some with strawberry!), small sizes, not good fish. Cooked dishes: Vegetable spring rolls (more Chinese/Cantonese)..with absolutely no filling at all. A Beef dish... definitely more Chinese in style, covered in some gloopy corn-starch and soy 'sauce'; fried razor-clams okay but only in comparison to everything else. Gyozu the dumpling skin was overly stodgy and way way too thick. Service: horrendously slow. Location: great. Outside seating along the river facing the Roman bridge. Price: it was all you can eat for a fixed price (for food) with drinks on top. I can't remember price for an adult (€12, €15 or €19)...for children under 12 it was €9. Overall: Chinese owned, managed and staffed restaurant where they are trying to do Japanese style food but failing. The price alone is not horrendous but it is for...
