Restaurante O Coreto — Restaurant in Tavira

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service experienced at "O Coreto" restaurant in Tavira. To ensure everything was organized for my family's trip, I made a reservation, even calling twice to confirm it. However, upon our arrival, the owner was remarkably discourteous and rude. He not only denied having any record of our reservation but also explicitly stated that I had not called him. When I respectfully reiterated that I had, in fact, called twice to confirm, he proceeded to accuse me directly of lying. Such a level of unprofessionalism and disrespect towards a customer is entirely unacceptable. Given the numerous dining options available in Tavira, and particularly during the summer season when retaining customers is crucial, this experience was exceptionally disappointing. We dined at Restaurante O Coreto in Tavira last week and cannot praise this establishment highly enough. From the get go, the guys were friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel comfortable. My husband had Espetada de frango e camarao, I had Espetada de frango e abacaxi, neither of us were disappointed, the chicken was cooked to perfection, tasty, moist and delicious, the prawns succulent and tasty. On our second visit, where we were greeted like friends, my husband asked about a couple of dishes and went with the recommended Bacalhau A Casa … SO GOOD, the fish again so tender and the potatoes and onions out of this world. First off, I would like to apologize for not having taken pictures of our food. I usually do, however it looked so good we just dug in! The wait staff are all great! Service was fantastic, super friendly and helpful. Our main server Alex was a delight. We had just recently moved to Tavira and he took the time to answer our questions and give us a ton of information on the area. I had the Chicken Skewer with Pineapple and my husband had a steak which comes on a hot rock that you cook yourself at the table. Both dishes were excellent.
