Arrived around 5:30pm after a hot day sightseeing. Firstly the bloody Mary’s were delicious, just the right amount of Tobasco, I switched from wine when I tasted my hubby’s drink. Claudia certainly knows how to mix a cocktail. Couldn’t decide whether to go back to hotel and shower to return or stay. As it was the choice was made for us as the tables around us were being reserved for evening meals, (use it or lose it was our decision). I ordered a tuna tartare and hubby a scallop dish, what can I say, the food was knockout, being mainly a fish eater and in my (cough) late 50’s, you can imagine I have eaten a few fish dishes, this was up there with the best. To finish we had a passion fruit sorbet type ice cream with a cinnamon crumble, a real delight and palette cleanser. The dishes are innovative and work. You are missing out if you don’t visit this restaurant. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable, especially Claudia who knows and believes in her food and the chef, very well done, doesn’t seem fitting. Heads up, during the day it usually busy busy, but still choice in seating options if a little limited, but in the evening evening I suggest you make a reservation if you like a specific seating. We...

To start with, I don’t like writing negative reviews, however felt very embarrassed and upset by this. We have eaten here previously as we live in Tavira. The service and food have always been excellent. To be clear there has never been an issue with the food or service. In July we decided to go for bread, olives and some wine as we were not overly hungry. We sat at one of the empty tables outside. The waitress came over and when we ordered she said she would have to check to see if it was ok for us to just order that as it was dinner time. She came back and told us we would need to order a full meals! I have been in business all my life and I get the concept of maximizing their revenue per table, however in the long run they lose. We live here, dine out all year long and they risk this for one tourist sitting. We are big believers in supporting local business, particularly in the off season as we know those times are more difficult. In the case of this owner maybe they should consider the same and look after the local customers. At the very least, advertise the fact you have a minimum charge between certain hours. At least you wouldn’t make local people feel like second...

My recent visit to a restaurant offered a diverse culinary experience. The appetizer was decent, while the main course truly stood out with its delightful flavors. The main course would easily earn a higher score if I were to rate it on a scale.

The restaurant's ambiance was exceptional, situated right beside a picturesque canal. This created an incredibly cozy and aesthetically pleasing setting, especially when seated close to the water's edge. I would rate the atmosphere quite highly. However, it's worth mentioning that the lack of lighting made the place quite dark once the sun went down.

The service was certainly a highlight. The staff was remarkably courteous and attentive, managing to secure a table for us despite our lack of prior reservation.

In summary, the restaurant delivered a varied dining experience with a standout main course and a decent appetizer. The canal-side ambiance was truly remarkable, although the absence of proper lighting made it rather dim after sunset. The service was excellent, and if you're searching for a place to relish good food and a wonderful atmosphere, this could be a...

We passed through Tavira after a day at the beach and were looking for somewhere to eat at 3pm. At first we passed Borda d'agua because their terrace at the water was less inviting than the terrace of another restaurant a few 100 meters further along. However, the kitchen of that place was closed so Borda d'agua it was. And man, we are so happy we came there. The food was exceptionally good, especially if you keep in mind the very reasonable prices. We had 2l of Sangria shared between the 4 of us and all of us agreed it was very good. I had the tuna tataki, and it was as good as it gets and only €18. Looked incredible as well. We then all had desert. The food and the service were amazing. At this price point, probably the best food I have ever had. Too bad it was so far from where we were staying because we would've gladly returned.
