Yes, you have to wait, but so what? Just accept that relax and let them cook whilst you enjoy the views.. sip a drink and then delve in for the excellent chicken. We ate here 3 times during a 5 night stay in the area, trying both the ribs and the chicken. The chicken was our favourite. The rice and potato fries that come as part of the meal are great and plentiful. We shared the chicken meal between us the first time as when we tried to order 2, we were informed it's a sharing dish. The second time, we had the chicken meal and also shared simple ribs. The third time went for 1 chicken meal and a simple chicken.. ate the lot. Very flavoursome, well cooked chicken. Lots of buttery garlic on the chicken but not too overpowering whilst eating it. Ask for Picante, and you'll get a well-balanced, slightly spicy sauce. Very popular place, and rightly so. They do a few dishes and do them very well. The food was really great 10/10, the view beautiful, the service decent! The bathroom something out of a horror movie.

The bathroom is under the restaurant down a concrete ramp. My daughter needed the toilet as our food got there the bathroom almost made me leave. There was no light in the toilet, urine all over the toilet. No actual toilet seat, the toilet paper was laying in a puddle of water I had to go up the ramp to ask for paper to clean the toilet first. No soap to wash your hands after either, No paper to dry your hands. Thank goodness I had things to clean and sanitise our hands at the table.

I want to rate it 5 because it could have been the best chicken I've had in Portugal but the bathroom experience...

What a great local and easygoing surprise for our early dinner. My friend and I didn't have lunch today and wanted to have an early dinner somewhere, most restaurants open at 7pm. We arrived at Churrasqueira at 6pm, the lady who helped us was friendly and accommodating. I don't eat meat, so I had shrimp rissoles and codfish cake with sides and it was perfect.
