One of the best and most unexpected kebabs of my life. I went with my friends to a lake house in the area and one day we had to go for groceries. On the way to the supermarket I saw this restaurant with the word KEBAB in the front and I told my friends that we should get one for dinner someday, they didn't even respond so I lost my hopes. Suddenly, 4 days later we ran out of food and ideas and one of my friends suggested we get a Kebab for dinner, luckily he wasn't ignored and we agreed that we would go that night. My horrible fate delivered me a stomach ache exactly that day and I was feeling like I couldn't even drink water without feeling sick. We went to Espreita and the owners were extremely nice, making my impossibility of eating even harder. I couldn't resist and I ordered half a Durum with a friend even though I knew I wasn't going to be able to eat it. When we got home I had a fever and my stomach pain was even worse. I took some rest and at least 3 pills and forced myself to go to dinner with my friends. When they started to open the durums and kebabs I simply couldn't resist and ignoring the yelling of one of my friends who was telling me not to do it I took a bite of my durum. I swear that has been one of the best bites of my life. The Durum was so good that I was about to cry. Every bite was sort of witchery for me. It seemed to have healing powers because my hunger returned and I suddenly felt so good. When I finished my durum half I felt like I could eat 3 more durums. The quality was amazing. It wasn't like anything I had eaten before. At the end, I have to thank that Durum for the extreme happiness it provided me and for healing me for a few minutes. If you ever see this restaurant, please get in and have...
Read moreWe went to the restaurant in the summertime, and what a disappointment it turned out to be. We ordered gambas with garlic and bread as appetizers and a big veal cutlet for the main dish. The waitress asked how we wanted the meat, and we clearly stated medium rare. After an absurdly long wait, the main dish finally arrived—still no sign of the appetizer.
When we mentioned to the waitress that if the gambas weren't ready yet, there was no point in bringing them after the main dish, it seemed to fall on deaf ears. To make matters worse, the expensive piece of meat we ordered medium rare was practically inedible—hard, dry, and completely overcooked.
When the gambas finally arrived after the main dish, they were just as dry, and the bread we asked for never even made it to the table.
It's infuriating that a restaurant with supposedly good reviews could have such glaring issues. Maybe it was due to the time of year, but these kinds of mistakes are completely unacceptable. I sincerely hope they get their act together...

From the moment we walked in, the warmth and friendliness of the staff made us feel right at home. You can tell they genuinely care about your experience — attentive, kind, and always smiling. It’s rare to find service this personal and welcoming.
But let’s talk about the kebab… wow. I’ve had kebabs all over the world, and I can say without hesitation: this is the best kebab I’ve ever tasted. Perfectly seasoned, incredibly juicy, and wrapped in the softest, most delicious bread you can imagine. Every bite was a flavor explosion, truly unforgettable. You can feel the love and craft in every detail.
The setting is charming, the vibe is relaxed, and the food is out of this world. Whether you’re passing through Gerês or making a trip just for this. Espreita is worth it. A total hidden gem. Can’t wait...
