Best dining experience in Porto! We were in Porto last week for 4 nights. My wife is celiac and we found incredible gluten free food in Porto and especially delicious food at Divino! We started with cocktails on their terrace, a Porto Spritz and Gin & Tonic, enjoying the nice panoramic view of Porto. My wife had the truffle risotto and loved it! Oddly, you would think Risotto would always be made gluten free, but at restaurants that serve pasta they often use the same water they use to cook the pasta, to cook the risotto. My wife was so happy to find this risotto because she loves truffles and our hotel had a truffle risotto but it was not GF. I had the Wild, Single Line Caught Sea Bass and it was very delicious. I told my wife the mashed potatoes that came with my Sea Bass were The Best I Ever Had, even better than my father-in-laws which are pretty damn good. We had glasses of wine with our meals that were excellently paired by the staff, finished with two incredible desserts and a 30 year white port for my wife and a 50 year red port for me. The staff was very friendly, professional and service was outstanding! The manager came to our table at the end of our meal to check on our experience. The experience went beyond the food and as I said, it was our best dining...
Read moreWe been there just for few drinks Very nice view, menu looks good Prices is OK Service was good, girl who served us drinks was nice BUT We ordered porto wine, instead of getting normal house wine, she gave us a chaoise between red or white wine. When we recived the bill, it ended up costing 25 euro per glass We expectet normal house porto wine, and was not specific about expansive We should have been warned
When we recived the bill, we was OK with paying it but I let her know that when people ordet "one glass of wine" they mean house wine, not most expansive you have Problem was that she startet defending herself and point finger on my wife which saying that its she who picked red one and thought she knows what she ordered Also told us that prices is in menu and this wine is there and its our fault that we didnt know which wine we are getting.
We canceled our dinner reservation for that issue, was not about the money but about the girl who startet arguing with us and blaming that we should have read the menu (1 glass of wine is 4 euro in this restaurant if I...
Read moreFine dining in Gaia at sunset...what an excellent evening! Hubby and I are spending a week at a wonderful air BNB on Rua do General Torres. Just a few blocks away, we found DI VINO and our dinner turned into an event. On a hillside, the restaurant's panoramic views of the Douro and the city of Porto are beyond amazing. First we were welcomed by the warmest staff ever. They proceeded to spoil us and create an evening of fine food and wine enjoyed as the sun set. Di Vino's menu offered a wide variety of unique meat, seafood, and vegetarian dishes enhanced with light and flavorful spices and sauces. Dinner begins with a selection of in house breads and finishes with dessert offerings from their pastry chef ranging from a traditional Portuguese pudding to chocolate cream filled profiterole, or a refreshing citrus cream cake topped with a tangy bite of ice cream. If you want to see the night views of Porto from Gaia in style, join the folks at DiVino for dinner, dessert,...
