You absolutely must visit this amazing location for a sunset. You also need to get there AT LEAST an hour before, because even then there are lots of people and it quickly fills up to standing room only. So again, get there about an hour and a half before sunset. Bring a blanket, wine, beer, snacks, etc. There are also multiple vendors walking around selling wine and beer. The vibe is humming, and the romantic ambiance is perfect for a date night. You will see a melting pot of people from all over the world converging on this great park to see a gorgeous sunset fall before you, as you look down river and over a scenic view of the city and it's nightlife springing forward. You can also stand along the bridge over the water as well. Just be mindful of the commuter trains slowly passing behind you. This is the best place to watch a sunset in Porto, and you do not want to skip on...

It is a place to just walk by at daytime and look over the river. Nobody over here is talking about all the sellers (beer, wine, food) that are walking by almost every minute and keep asking if you want something to drink/eat and the marihuana smell. Not everybody has a good intention over there. It was the first time in Porto that I did not felt safe to stay for a long time.

If you are a person who can get stimulated by different sounds, waking people and different smells of if you could not ignore it, you should better go for another place for the sunset and just sit for a little bit. A place with good people and not a tourist place where you should be aware of the people around you because not everybody is there to just enjoy the view. But if you do not mind the smell of marihuana and can enjoy at a place like I just described:...

Gaia-is-a-GREAT City to live in. Gaia’s also the “2nd-City”-to-PORTO,🙄 Portugal’s, “2nd-City”( to Lisboa) 🤔 If you like Porto’s weather- it’s even nicer in Vila Nova de Gaia. Why? Yesterday while crossing the Dom Luis bridge I noticed a tempurature variance, from Porto to GAIA. Cooler waters of The River Duoro seem to moderate the warmer air in Porto. Meaning- GAIA’s “cooler”!😎 No doubt.💥

The Park is a popular place at Sundown, to watch the Sun-set. Be sure to check out the morning “set” (9-13:00 ) of “Dona Música”. Gabi + André are from São Paolo living now in GAIA. Their samba covers of Jobim & other famous Musicians of Brasil is memorable.Better to buy a CD!

in the Jardim do Morro “Park”- the musicians are THE BEST! Where else can you hear beautiful Brazilian Samba music of Carlos Jobim being performed by a couple from São...

It's nuts the number of people who come here for sunset! We came on a Monday evening in September (so not peak tourist season by any means) and there were so many people on the grassy banks. We could even make out the people on the hill all the way from Jardins do Palácio de Cristal on another evening. No doubt it's an outstanding panoramic view. There's food trucks and people coming round with drinks. You are also kept entertained by a number of musicians and buskers. Unfortunately you may have people smoking weed/sativa around you. It's easy to get to from the top of the bridge Luis I. You can get the cable car down to the riverside. We preferred the quieter view of the sun going down and afterglow from the monastery.
