Italian Indian Palace — Restaurant in Viseu

Worst Indian food we had. . the welcome we got was good... and the appetiser "Chicken Tikka Masala" was good. however, we had to wait more than 1 hour for the food. Ordered Garlic Naan, Butter Naan, Butter lamb and a Chilie Paneer. There was absolutely no taste in the meat ! Its like the curry was made separately and they had put some Boiled pieces of meat in to it. The meat was Very bland. The paneer was was the same. For the first time in my life we had Naan bread which was tasteless. !!!!! No salt, no garlic whatsoever.....

For the delay they apologised that they were short staffed and had lots of guests .. which can be exused for the delay. But definitely not for the horrible food we got. We waited for an hour before asking them about food.

The worst of all for me was, the person who waited on us, who was very polite , thought he could trick us by pretending to give us a discount - we never asked for a discount and never expected one. Without handing over the bill to us, he said oh I've given you a discount for the delay and since you didn't enjoy the food ! Later when we checked the bill, we were charged the full amount ! That for me is the dirtiest thing! We never wanted a discount , and the way he did it ! Under the guise of being genuinely...

The name should have been a clear enough indication of the quality. Italian is to Indian as an inflatable is to a TV. The service was atrocious. We asked for the starters at 12:30 and they came in at 12:45, asked for the mains at 12:35 and they came in at 13:30. The nan bread was too greasy, and all the curries seemed watered down, too fatty, and too liquid. The chicken was way too dry, and the attitude of one staff member in particular was terrible and impolite. They either take cash or national cards, and don't accept contactless payments. When we took the leftovers home, we soon realized there were elements missing such as my sauce which I had ordered specifically because I wanted to take some home, and all...

The best indian food you will find in Portugal!!!

My girlfriend and I are very happy with the restaurant. The food is very good and the staff is more than friendly. It is very well organised and there is not a too long waiting time for the food.

We went at least 30 times to the restaurant and we were happy every time after we left.

I can absolutely recommend the italien indian palace if you like great indian food from the north or if you want to try something new☺️
