As an executive chef my self it’s very hard not to notice everything when I go out to eat Unfortunately this was not a nice experience,
Restaurent was pretty empty, I could only notice another couple setting beside us, However the service was not where it should be in a 5 star hotel,
Slow, unorganized, and no attention to what is happening in the table, cutlery was not replaced, no offer of water, tea, or coffee During or After dining
Order was changed without asking or checking with us if we are ok with it.
Food . Arabic Mazzeh was ok however fattoush salad was too salty and too sour Kibbeh was tooo mushy and cheese cigars had no taste . Hummus & taboulleh were good .
Main dish . Fish Harraa was cut into small pieces don’t know why!! Topped with a lot of diced capsicum and nothing else rice on the side
Shishbarak (Arabic tortellini) was nothing but thick dough and not much filling Sauce was ok
Ordered Lamb arayess never came !
Took one of the set menu that supposed to have dessert (Kunafa) included however I was charged extra
If you are looking for that Arabic/Lebanese hospitality and taste you won’t find it here
I gave my business card to the waiter if you want to hear further details. You can contact...
Read moreNot what it used to be.. I had breakfast buffet in this place on a Friday. It was a shock to see how humble the buffet selection was. The Marsa Malaz Kempinski breakfast buffet was historically served at the Sawa restaurant by the beach. During these times, the breakfast buffet was a lavish selection of middle eastern, European and Asian food items. All freshly made with cooks and chefs serving food cooked in front of you. I was extremely disappointed to see what the Kempinski breakfast buffet has turned into!! Shame on them. The food was not fresh and tasteless. No live stations and limited diversity. The waiters were nice and trying to do their best. The manager also tried to make the experience better for us and got some extra items to our table. The root cause however is probably related to the hotel management. They chose to serve subpar items that are not fresh and of poor quality. On top of that they jacked up the buffet price from 170 to 190 for this kind of breakfast!! All in all, the place is poor value for money, a rip off and leaves much...
Read moreFood was good, but service could be improved. We’d made a dinner reservation 15 days prior and were asked what the occasion was when booking. We’d let them know it was our honeymoon. When we arrived, we were informed the restaurant was essentially closed that day due to a big conference taking place at the hotel, and there was instead a buffet. We’d specifically chosen this place for the menu, and were never informed about the change until we arrived. There was also nothing special offered for our “special occasion,” which makes it weird why they even asked in the first place. Unfortunately, it ended up being a rather underwhelming dinner on our last night on honeymoon.
While we did have some selections from the regular menu available at the buffet, it was a different experience than what we’d anticipated and would’ve liked. The drink menu is rather limited, and we had to ask to see it (only a digital one with a QR code, no physical menu) instead of being offered when we...
