Read moreStopped in here on a layover today. Special iftar meal. I ordered the lamb and okra with rice, and a lovely lentil soup and samboosa. The dessert was a milk-based dessert with crispy topping and a syrup. It was probably the most delicious dessert I've ever had! The food was amazing. Good serving sizes, all very fresh, all flavourful, definitely not mass-produced. Well worth it! Special thankyou must go to one of the ladies working there "Shirin" who was extremely helpful, professional and hospitable. I will be back to try out the rest of their selection, including the special Karak teas. 10 out of 10!

Then Zacharia came to serve us the traditional arabic coffee in the typical beautiful pot, again explaining in detail its characteristics, a beautiful gift from the manager of Basta.
I came here just to have a snack and ended up having the most beautiful welcome in Qatar, having also learnt more about its culture.
Make no mistake I'll be back every time I'll stop in Doha, highly...
