Nikos Greek Taverna Cazino Mamaia — Restaurant in Constanta Metropolitan Area

Nikos Greek Tavarna is centrally located on the seafront in Mamaia at the Piata Cazino square and can offer both indoor and outdoor dining. The place appears modern with a simple Scandinavian-style interior and offers a rich Greek-inspired menu.

We received no greeting or eye contact with the staff upon arrival and found a table on our own in the outdoor dining area. We waited for close to 25 minutes to get the attention of a waiter to get the menu and this was put on the table without any smile or friendly comment.

When we were ready to order it took another 20 minutes to get the attention of an employee who could take the order. Meanwhile, we observed several employees running around the room several times, apparently not knowing what to do. It all seemed very disorganized and unprofessional.

We chose to order "Gyros de porc" and the food was served after about 10 minutes, which was fast in relation to the type of place and the number of guests. The food was nicely presented, but unfortunately the gyros meat was cold and the accompanying bread dry, which made us wonder if the food was even freshly made. The food tasted okay, but didn't particularly stand out and wasn't worth the price.

We received no follow-up from the staff during the meal and were not offered anything more to drink when the glasses were empty. It took 20 minutes to get the attention of the staff to get paid and we got no greeting or nice closing comment when we left the place.

The employees seemed overworked and there was a stressed atmosphere in the place. The food was not of the quality that one would expect and it took far too long to order and pay for the food. Based on this, we will not visit the place again or recommend...

So we went to this place as it had good reviews. It was a bad experience, even though we are not too fussy. But this place.... ridiculous. We ordered a Greek salad, grilled calamari, mussels, fried potatoes with cheese and 2 beers. All good so far. Order came without mussels. Instead of them they brought a chicken gyros. We explained we ordered mussels and waiter was like : yes mussels, pushing the plate to us. We politely refused and asked for the mussels. They never came. Not even after 1h30m. Grilled calamari I suppose it was made from 3 different old calamari. Soaking in oil?!, with 3 different colours on it. Overdone, burned. At the end the bill came. Fun fact, including mussels. We respectfully asked for them to be cut off the bill as we haven't even saw how they look like. That was done thankfully. Overall not a good experience. Food wasn't even close to what we expected - coming from a Cyprus holiday 😅. Serving was fast for the things we received, but waiters in a hurry somehow, rushed. Atmosphere is all right. Overall a very bad experience....

Am ajuns din întâmplare aici și am vrut sa mănânc o ciorbă/supă neapărat. În această seară de duminică în meniu aveau la Supa Zilei o supă de miel dar sincer nu eram prea entuziasmat mai ales că după cum știm cu toții când e vorba de miel cel care gătește asa ceva trebuie sa fie bun ca să iasă cum trebuie. Dar pentru ca nu aveau alta supa în meniu și pentru că și altele pentru soție îmi făceau cu ochiul am zis să încerc cu supa de miel. Am vorbit cu fetele care au fost foarte drăguțe să-mi explice că merită încercată supa de miel și am comandat una să o mănânc până ce se fac restul celor comandate pentru soție. Supa de miel a venit și vreau să vă spun că primul șoc este mărimea bolului. Este foarte mare bolul și plin cu supă până sus. Vine însoțită în aceiași bani cu doua felii mari și pufoase la interior dar crocante la exterior de pâine cu puțin ulei de măsline pe ele. Credeți-mă că trebuie să îi dați 3, 4 linguri cu încredere pentru că ceea ce urmează e de neuitat. Așadar în primul rând sunt două aspecte care te uimesc: 1. Nu este o supa grasă sau greoaie, absolut deloc, este răcoritoare și ușoară, 2. Nu are vreun gust dubios de oaie, miel sau berbecuț ABSOLUT DELOC! Este o supă clasică dar nu foarte diluată și nici foarte cremoasă este exact cum trebuie. Este dreasă cu ou și puțin acrișoară cu o grămadă de carne bucățele. Are legume bucățele finuțe foarte gustoase și orez iar carnea este de cea mai înaltă calitate pe care vi-o puteți imagina, este fina, moale, consistentă, multă și deosebit de gustoasă. O cauți mereu în farfurie si o savurezi pentru ca are textura perfecta. Mi s-a recomandat ardei iute și inițial am zis ca nu e nevoie după care am luat totuși și vreau să menționez că trebuie neapărat cu ardei iute pentru că adaugă un gust comparativ care pune în valoare supa. Am mâncat tot bolul pe nerăsuflate, deosebit de bună împreună cu pâinica și ardeii iuți murați. Nota 20 din maximul de 10. Cea mai fină cărniță într-o supă extraordinar de ușoară, consistentă, sățioasă pe 2023. Fetele din personal au fost toate amabile de când am intrat până când am ieșit și mereu m-au întrebat dacă îmi place, dacă mai am nevoie de ceva. În concluzie trebuie sa va spun ca a...
