I had made a review on Trip Advisor but sadly I can't update it.
Management bad. Wait staff amazing. Food is subpar for indian. In response to the comment, as a business, you do not get to dictate what is or is not fair for me. Or what gives me credit. Understand that as a restaurant, you are based on the entire dining experience, and my dining experience left me angered at the end. The only thing that got you the two stars in the first place was the wait staff, had it not been for them, it would be one star. Had you not even made a comment about the water, I would have likely given at best 4, but was leaning on three.
The butter chicken was edible, but tasteless. The garlic naan, if you wish to call it that, not garlic and barely naan. The mango cocktail...was there even any alcohol in it or did i just order a smoothie. The rice, well you can't mess that up really.
As for being shocked...shouldn't have been any shock to you. Although it was a shock for me being told no for water.
So there you are, it's not just about the water but if you wish for me to go into further detail. I shall. This is far from "fine dining" and the food is the quality of a lower end bistro, in fact I've had better bistro food or cheap dining at a fraction of the cost.
And as for the rules, post them on the door if you don't allow outside water. Water should always be an exception, as I've said...in ALL of my travels, at fine dining to street food, having my own bottled water has never...
Read more7 pm, with friends...and came across this restaurant so tried getting in and got successful after 10 minutes. But felt strange on being asked, if we had reservations (was never asked that question in any if the European countries).
Ordered Onion pakodas (though ordered aalk as well), Paneer kadhai, dal makhani along with Veg pulav and Kulchas.
Food served hot along with pudina and imli (tamerind) chatni/dip and mix achaar. Observations :
Friendly and courteous staff and great service. Restaurant is located at an excellent location. Above average food, when compared to actual Indian food back home. Portions are sized well though. Pulav was beans added to Jira rice. Good ambiance with lively Bollywood music playing in the background.
Feedback :
Can add Kadhi, Rajma etc to the menu.
Overall good place to be at and if in St. Petersburg and craving for Indian food then...
Read moreHands down the best Indian restaurant in St Petersburg, a bit pricey but considering the taste and location of this restaurant- it’s agreeable. We specifically asked the staff for Halal food and he confirmed that they have halal dishes. The taste was great, something you won’t find easily in St Petersburg. Not that ‘Indian’ spicy but also not bland. Clean and well maintained restaurant with popular Bollywood tracks being played in the background. We ordered Murg Hara Pyaz, Tandoori Murgh, Tandoori Nan and Gulab Jamun for dessert. Still better quantity served than other restaurants offering the same cuisine. Service was fast, though we went on a Friday night.
