Expedition. Northern Cuisine — Restaurant in Tagansky District

I hate reviews, but I always keep my word.

This is the place with delicious food from all around of Russia, but with a poor service. We went the place 2 times. The 1st time it was 5 out of 5, but our 2nd visit was the wrong choice.

We were waiting 15 minites to process my CC after we got a final check. The waiter was busy with other customers(back and forth to them) and didn't pay attention on us at all, another words he was simly neglecting us. I do understand that all the customers are important, but I thnk that all the customers are equal.

I put 3 stars for kitchen, beautiful atmosphere, life Russian music and their cat :-). I deducted 2 stars for the waiter and his neglect. I pointed about the problem to the front desk and got only "sorry" . I explained to the front desk that I would live a negative review and was offered with a bubble gum :-). I'm not kidding here, but I cannot write this without a smile.

Am I going to the place again? I think rather...

An amazing place with an atmosphere of travelling and exploration. An interesting mix of rural table-ware and super quality food with creative serving. A band of singers in sailor shirts singing good-hearted old russian songs in the evening adds to the mood. The owner of this place is a well-known traveller and creator of Expedition Trophy, so every detail in the interior and atmosphere is real. Russian fish soup Uha served with thimble of vodka, hot ember and a shot glass of hrenovuha is worth trying. Definitely visit a gift shop with authentic souvenirs on the ground...

this restaurant was a real surprise. At the beginning i thought was a tourist trap... but the food is excellent. Highly recommend the fish soup with the vodka shot amazing flavors packed in the whole dish and very nice presentation. I had as well the pelmeni ( russian ravioli) with deer and beaver meat, first time and quite like it.. kind of smokey gamy flavor.
