NAGOYA Hotpot 自助小火锅 — Restaurant in Al Rawda Muncipality

I visited this restaurant for lunch on May 11th and, while the food offerings showed promise, the overall experience was significantly marred by hygiene and service issues.

On the positive side, the restaurant boasts a commendable variety of food options, consist of vegetables, seafood, and meats. The inclusion of a DIY dipping sauce station was a particularly nice and unique touch that I appreciated. The dessert selection, featuring a soft-serve ice cream machine and fresh-cut watermelons, also seemed appealing.

I opted for the mushroom broth which was nice and enjoyable.

However, my initial impressions upon entering the restaurant were concerning. I directly observed a staff member using his bare hands to take watermelons from the serving tray meant for customers and proceed to eat them on the spot! Shortly after, another staff member was seen casually drinking a beverage in the customer area, and we subsequently had to call for service to receive our broth.

During our meal, the unprofessional behavior continued. Two staff members took it upon themselves to sit at a table intended for customers (near the meat fridge) and they were engrossed with their phones. This lack of attentiveness and inappropriate use of customer seating in a food and beverage establishment was quite jarring.

Furthermore, our dining experience was significantly impacted by a noticeable issue with flies hovering over our table. We had to request staff intervention to address this problem, which thankfully one member did resolve.

Overall, I left feeling quite disappointed. This restaurant clearly has the potential to offer a satisfying dining experience with its diverse menu and creative elements like the dipping sauce station. However, the lack of attention to basic hygiene practices, unacceptable staff conduct in customer areas and the issue wirh pests are significant shortcomings. Hands down easily one of the worst dining experience ever. Arrived around 8.50pm and receptionist was nowhere to be found. 5 minutes later he came out and told us to wait aside and we assumed it would take a while as we saw empty tables but werent cleared. Had 2 more groups came by and they were given tables ahead of us. No explanation given, no expectations set. Waited another 15 minutes and lost patience and asked the receptionist how long more we had to wait. He then started picking on tables that looked they were almost done and clearing them while patrons were still seated. He then gestured to us to sit at the table when the tables were not fully cleaned or set, and while the current patron was still at the table! What an absolute nightmare. I said no we are not going to sit until they are ready to go and table is cleaned. After they left, the table was found to still have food sediments all around. This is just very disgusting and I had to wipe down the table myself. Food sediments can also still be found on the chair and the floor. After that no one came to explain / take our order for the soup base. Just had to navigate on our own. Food wise was super disappointing also, the food display looked so pathetic, some being very slow to be refilled. Cooked food also looked so subpar. Ordered tomato soup base, worse tasting soup: imagine they just put water, chopped garlic and tomato slice. No flavor at all. Absolutely wonderful first hotpot experience! I visited this place for the first time and was blown away by the warm hospitality, especially from Hassan. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel genuinely welcomed. A gentleman—possibly the manager—specifically asked Hassan to assist me, and he went above and beyond.

Hassan personally walked me through the entire process, patiently explained how everything works, and even helped select the best condiments and items for my hotpot. It made the whole experience feel easy, enjoyable, and very personal.

The food itself was fantastic—flavorful, fresh, and exactly what I had hoped for in a hotpot meal. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service made it even better.
