A friend introduced me to a restaurant that I am a Korean, thought I might like, so I decided to visit. But I got really bad experience in this restaurant and this experience made me compare to others fine dining restaurant in Jeddah . I would like to mention 2moment that I pissed off . 1. We ordered "sesame glazed salmon " and I ask him to double check order .And we got a raw salmon with the comment of sasimi . So that I asked him to check order and me also I wanted to check menu book my self . He told me "This is the one you ordered and this one is chinese food so you can get confusion ." With a bit he speaking up his voice and cut off my word. He was forcing that he is correct . So that I ask him I wanna check menu book my self and read back again "SESAME GLAZED SALMON" . And he said "Yes,this is the one you ordered ". But when I check receipt it was "Yusheng Salmon". It was so disrespectful experience to us . 2. When we ordered dishes, we told him We gonna order main dishes later after we eat dishes. Once we reveived cristy duck he just asked us to order main dishes . Even we didnt start our food and everyone felt he was in rush . He looks that wanted us to eat faster and get out this restaurant earlier . So we lost our appetite to order main course , dont wanna stay inside restaurant at all. We were supposed to have a nice time with this restaurant because we like chinese food even we like the restaurant's atmosthere. But All of us got stress during dinner time , we didnt enjoy food well because of his attitute. As a Asian person, the food was satisfied , but some of your staff should respect customer and listen to customer, be more professional . If some one ask me to recommend asian restaurant , I cannot recomment here unless they improve their service quality .

‘Dim Sum Night’ takes place once a month and dates aren’t confirmed for the next event, but I’ll make sure to keep you guys posted on the dates. At SR. 180 per person, this doesn’t come cheap but the experience is worth it. From ‘Steamed’ to ‘Fried’ selections of dumplings, we were served with some remarkable variations that I had never come across. In the ‘Steamed’, I enjoyed the ‘Jelly Crab Dumpling’ which can look quite unsettling to some with its vivid and slimy exterior but it was delightful. The ‘Steamed Saffron Lobster’ & ‘Shui Jiao Spicy Prawn Dumpling’ were also really good with the latter packing a tiny amount of heat. The ‘Crystal Shrimp Dumpling’ was just ok and weirdly I quite enjoyed the “Spinach Dumpling’. The menu isn’t very vegan or vegetarian friendly but you can order these ‘Dim Sums’ separately if you need to. The ‘Fried’ selection was my favourite and some of the items really stood out. The absolute best of the lot was the ‘Wagyu Puff with Black Pepper Mayo’ with the beef being the highlight. It was tender and the sauce really added that extra zing. The puff had managed to retain its crispy outer layer without the filling turning it mushy. The ‘Tiger Prawn with Spicy Mayo’ was the next best thing and I really wish they brought in a few extras. The ‘Pan Fried Chicken Bun’ was also delicious and so was the ‘Sesame Prawn Toast’ with its crispy outer exterior and delicious prawn center. Ahmed and I decided to finish off the meal by ordering a Dessert, so we went for the ‘Frozen Macadamia Soufflé with Hot Chocolate Sauce’ (SR. 50). Loved the macadamia and soufflé’s combination and it is a bit heavy. This would be a great share for 2-3 people if you aren’t looking to down a whole dessert. I will keep you guys posted on future dates once I get confirmation.

Toki in Jeddah delivers on its reputation for elegance and high-end dining, but what truly sets it apart is its people. We expected premium service walking into a restaurant of this calibre, but our experience was elevated far beyond expectations thanks to one remarkable individual: Shafik. From the moment we sat down, Shafik embodied what exceptional service should look like. His knowledge of the menu was impeccable. Every dish we inquired about was met with thoughtful insight, clear recommendations, and an evident passion for the cuisine. He was attentive without being intrusive, warm without being overly familiar, and his genuine care for our experience showed in every interaction. Now to the food, here’s our honest take: Papaya Chicken Salad – 9.5/10. Fresh, flavorful, beautifully balanced. And that’s me being strict. Wagyu Shen Jing Bun – 10/10. This is what perfection tastes like. Rich, tender, and unforgettable. Tuna New Style Spring Roll – 10/10. A daring dish, perfect for lovers of raw delicacies. Not for everyone, but if it’s for you, it wows. Hot & Sour Soup – 10/10. Bold, comforting, and surprisingly addictive. Wagyu Pepper Steak – 10/10. Every bite was a masterclass in flavour and technique. Dragon Sour Drink – 10/10. A refreshing, vibrant drink that complimented the meal perfectly. In the end, it wasn’t just a dinner. It was a refined experience where every detail, from ambience to service to the final sip, was thoughtfully executed. Shafik, thank you for making our visit extraordinary. Toki is lucky to have you, and we’ll be back because of you.

I went with my family for lunch today and was extremely disappointed especially with the poor service. We waited 10min before anyone came to our table and the European lady who finally served us was inhospitable and indifferent. Everyone in my family noticed it.

We ordered different dim sum plates, some appetizers & a whole Peking duck. 2 of the dim sum plates we ordered didn’t come by the time we finished all our appetizers and had to ask for them twice before they were finally brought in. Moreover my son ordered a passion fruit mojito which also didn’t come until we finished our appetizers and after reminding the waiter to bring it.

In terms of food quality, the dim sum and Peking duck were good but the smoked corn chicken and spicy Mayo prawns were average. Due to the poor service our whole experience was spoilt. It didn’t feel good paying premium fine dining restaurant prices for this level of service.

UPDATE 11/09/22: After writing my comment above, the following day I received a call from the new TOKI GM Walid Bousseboua. He called to apologize for the poor experience my family and I had and invited us again for another visit. I appreciated his gracious gesture and accepted his invitation.

My family and I went to TOKI again today for lunch and had an excellent experience. The GM Walid was there to greet us and took great care of us from the moment we came in until we left. I also had a very interesting chat about his plans for TOKI and it sounds like some exciting events, promotions and offers will be coming in the near future!

Antonia (the European lady I mentioned above) also came to our table and was clearly very upset about our previous experience and apologized for any shortcomings. My family and I were moved by her humility and very much appreciated her gesture. We were also served by 2 attentive waiters (Nawaz & Ivan) who were both courteous and professional and made us feel welcome at all times. Everything came on time and was delicious; as is to be expected from any fine dining restaurant.

We all had a wonderful dining experience at TOKI and, because the service this time was exemplary, were able to enjoy the food so much more.

Walid’s care in reading reviews and taking decisive action upon reading my review is a game changer and I believe he will help turn TOKI into one of Jeddah’s most sought after dining experiences. Thank you Walid and the TOKI team and wish you every success. You can certainly count me as a customer.

(Our experience today is undoubtedly worthy of 5 stars & have therefore changed my initial review above...
