Bangkok Seafood Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Olaya

Well what a super little Thai this is! Set in a quiet backwater of Riyadh, amidst a plethora of other southeast Asian restaurants, we chose this one because we liked the lights outside....

So, well done lights, you tempted us inside for the real pleasures. The menu is extensive and pictures accompany most things if you aren't familiar with Thai. If you are, then dig in, it really is worth the effort to get here. And the truth, as is often the case, is it's modest prices bely it's quality. It's better than many much more upmarket places. A glance into the kitchen told me all I needed to know; experts at work with woks and flames a leaping like turbocharged salmon...

They do small, medium and large sizes on many dishes, so I had the Larb kai and a small Tom Yum soup and Pad Thai - all three being imho, good bellwethers of a good Thai...and this place is certainly that. Sorry the Tom Yum didn't photo very well, it was soooo delicious.

So, while the Venn diagram tells me that while the possibility of the reader of this review is both in Riyadh and fancies a Thai, is modest, if it's you, get yourself to this place soon. Yum....

Kruat thai is a one of a kind restaurant that can be found in the heart of riyadh, You must try their dish which is "tom yang" , making it one of their signature dish which is characterised by its distinct hot and sour flavours with fragrant spices and herbs, i am not a thailand native but i fell in love with this dish as i savor it for the first time, you can savor and enjoy the flavoursome soup up to the last drop. The buttered fish also is a must try. The only problem i had with the restaurant is it's fetid odor lingering around the area. I tried to address this to the manager and i hope he would make an action about this. Overall ,the delectable ood outweighs the unpleasant scent. So its a 4...

Best place for Vegetarian food. I can only speak about the vegetarian dishes but I can say they have sustained me here in Riyadh. I order any of the following : Panang tofu, pad thai tofu, Tom yum with tofu, morning glory flower greens and mixed vegetables. The also have mango or papaya salad. They do not have vegetarian spring rolls unfortunately. Also the decor and lighting are so very insufficient and the chairs are flat rocks. However yhe staff are kind and welcoming. I bring ally dates here to see if they make the grade!

Last but not least they are kind to all the poor strays. That is why I love and highly recommended...
