Review for Asian Taste Restaurant – A Major Disappointment
I contacted the restaurant ahead of time to inquire about current promotions, and was assured by a staff member named “Sumo” that several dishes were being offered at discounted rates. However, upon arriving, I was surprised to find there were no promotions at all—none, zero. I had informed him that I would be conducting an evaluation and comparison with other similar restaurants, which in hindsight, may have been premature as it possibly influenced how they responded. Nevertheless, fairness aside, I proceeded to order four Thai dishes: Tom Yum soup, shrimp Tapkiana, beef fried rice, and noodles.
Here are the findings: • Beef Fried Rice: This was an absolute failure. There were barely any shrimp—so few that you’d need tweezers to find them. No beef at all. The only protein in the dish was thin slices of processed smoked chicken—the kind you’d find pre-packaged for sandwiches. The rice was clearly old, dry, and flavorless—no soy sauce, no salt, no seasoning of any kind. This dish was inedible and frankly unfit for consumption. • Noodles: Severely overcooked to the point of being soggy and clumped together. Very little vegetables, poor texture, and almost no flavor. Just an underwhelming plate of mush. • Shrimp Tapkiana: The shrimp were the only mildly redeemable component of the meal—decent, but nothing memorable. • Tom Yum Soup: This was the best of the worst. While the taste was closer to expectations, it was watery, with far too much broth and very little substance.
There were no other customers when I arrived, and the staff appeared more interested in lounging around than attending to the place. Given the complete lack of activity, there’s no excuse for the poor quality, presentation, or preparation of the food.
The entire experience was a disappointment bordering on disaster. I will not be returning, and I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere for authentic or even edible...

The Tom Yum boasts a perfect balance of spicy and sour flavors, with a rich, aromatic broth that is both invigorating and comforting. Each spoonful is a burst of authentic Thai goodness, packed with fresh herbs, tender shrimp, and mushrooms.
Equally impressive is the buttered fish. It's a true delight with its delicate, flaky texture and a buttery sauce that complements the fish without overpowering its natural flavor. The dish is expertly prepared, showcasing the chef's skill and attention to detail.
Highly recommended for those who appreciate exquisite flavors and high-quality ingredients.

Read moreVisited with family on a weekend. What struck me more than anything, was the ambience and atmosphere. From outside, it looks like just any other ordinary restaurant, however the set-up was somewhat different. Most probably because of live music, that kept the customers toe tapping. The food is alright. We ordered the Korean Bbq, Prawn fried rice and garlic Fish, with a pitcher of Iced Lemonade. The staff though looking tired, as it was nearly closing time, still accommodated us, and served us amiably. The service was quite quick, and staff polite. The Manageress, was a very warm, kind and friendly lady. She offered us free cake for dessert, left over by the birthday party that was ongoing. That was kind of her, she asked us to visit again. We most probably shall. If at all to dine with live music, which makes for a pleasant change, than banging crockery from noisy kitchens! A Birthday party was ongoing and we enjoyed the atmosphere, passively partaking in the repartee. The vibes were lively, cheery and even the staff were enjoying the positive mood. I would like to suggest a weekend karaoke night, to lure customers who like to belt out the 70's and 80's, which had the best in music in my pov. Being an 80's kid myself, I enjoyed The many disco and catching beats, as I delved into the Bbq with my chopsticks. Liked the atmosphere of Asian Taste. Would recommend taking a friend or a party, for an enriching...
