I recently dined at Seera with my sister and had a mixed experience. While the appam was excellent, the Mutton Khurma was quite disappointing. The curry lacked flavour, and the mutton was not enjoyable at all. After expressing my concerns to the server, he was reluctant to replace the dish, but I insisted, and he eventually took it back.
I ordered a chicken dish as a replacement, which was just average—nothing to write home about.
When it came time to pay, I noticed that the returned dish was still included on my bill. I had to escalate the issue with the cashier to have it removed due to its poor quality. The cashier didn’t seem pleased, and the server attempted to pass the returned curry off as a takeaway, which was frustrating given the circumstances.
Overall, I believe the restaurant needs to improve its service in several areas:
Customer Handling: Staff should be better trained to manage complaints about orders. Timeliness: The server was slow to provide the bill, which caused unnecessary delays. Refills: While the appam was made fresh, the staff should proactively offer refills to customers who have consumed it rather than being preoccupied with other tasks.
I hope my feedback helps improve their operation. I loved seera before unfortunately this...
Read moreSeera Indian Cuisine in Riyadh is a delightful Kerala restaurant that offers a mix of positives and a couple of areas for improvement. Upon arriving, we had to wait for about 15 minutes to get seated, which was a bit of a downer, but once inside, the ambiance and decor of the restaurant were very appealing. The beautiful decor sets a pleasant mood for dining.
The highlight of any restaurant is the food, and in this regard, Seera Indian Cuisine mostly delivers. The menu offers a variety of options, and the dishes we tried were generally tasty and economical. However, there was a noticeable disappointment with the fish pollichathu; it did not meet our expectations and was below average in taste.
On a more positive note, the pal kappa with beef stood out as a unique and flavorful dish, definitely worth trying for those looking to explore Kerala cuisine. Unfortunately, the tea we ordered did not live up to our expectations.
Overall, Seera Indian Cuisine is a restaurant worth trying, especially if you're a fan of Kerala cuisine. While there were a few hiccups, such as the wait time and the fish dish, the combination of good ambiance, attractive decor, and reasonably priced, tasty dishes like the pal kappa with beef make it a place worth visiting for a...
Read moreIf you're looking for a nice restaurant with a fresh culture, look no further. This place serves some great lunch options, with curries that feel more like a homely meal than hotel food. I've tried their lunch a few times, and for the most part, it's been really good. There were one or two occasions where it resembled the food you'd find at a typical Saudi Keralite restaurant - if you know what I mean! I once tried their pothi/vazhayila biriyani, but it was a total waste of a try. It fell below my average expectations. I also tried their dinner options. The beef ularth was awesome, the chicken curry was okay, but the porotta was very poor. The ambiance was a bit of a mixed bag. At the entrance, it looked warm and inviting with a modern contemporary layout, but on the sides, it jumped into an industrial theme. These two themes didn't match each other. The table heights were too low, almost like children's tables, and they weren't sturdy - they moved around while you ate. That was a bit cheap. Despite this, I still believe that they serve the best Kerala lunch meals compared to other Saudi-standard...
