Billy's — Restaurant in Dakar

Horrible service. Disrespectful staff. Ordered a Mexican taco (beef option)to be delivered, as you can clearly see in the photos. They sent me a chicken Mexican taco instead. I took a bite and realized it wasn’t beef. I called the restaurant and the staff member who took my order basically blew me off and send it wasn’t her fault because she clearly wrote “beef” for my order. (I ordered on their dakar food delivery site). She told me it was probably the cook’s fault. Literally no apology whatsoever for the inconvenience. I then asked her what they were going to do about it (seeing that she intended to just blow me off for the whole situation). Then the staff member told me she had to doublecheck again with the kitchen staff. She then tried to question whether I actually ordered for the beef version instead of the chicken version of the taco. Instead of arguing, I told her I could send them the pdf invoice they sent me via email of my order. Then she immediately hung up and blocked me. Horrible behaviour. Disgusting treatment of clients, especially when you’re in the wrong. I’m telling all my friends and international colleagues to beware of this restaurant because their staff’s disgusting behaviour overshadows their food. You call yourself an American Diner, yet your treatment of clients is so...

Well it's a fast food restaurant. Portions are big and generous. Lots of meat prepared differently grilled, fried, in burgers etc etc. But you also got veggies. And also lots of fries for the lovers... with cheese ..humm.Food is nice. No comments on that. The personnel is helpful. Place is clean and near. The price is average and you got clean toilets. Payments by card or cash. No alcohol drinks are served. Parkings are available as it's part of a mall. It's just next to a cinema and laser tag so it's the perfect place to finish your trip or night. Je dois avouer qu’au début, cet endroit ne m’inspirait pas vraiment. Je m’attendais à un lieu simple, sans plus. Mais à ma grande surprise, j’y suis allé hier, et c’était juste WOUAH ! Le cadre est parfait, idéal aussi bien pour une sortie en famille qu’entre amis.

Côté cuisine, j’ai été particulièrement conquis par leurs pâtes, qui étaient incroyables, et leur smoothie rose bonbon aux fruits rouges, une vraie découverte. En revanche, le mix grill et la pizza ne m’ont pas convaincu – question de goût, sûrement, car il n’y avait aucun souci de cuisson ou de qualité.

Mais leur burger "Red Devil" était tout simplement exceptionnel ! Le pain était moelleux, et tout était parfaitement équilibré, un vrai délice.

Pour couronner le tout, notre serveuse a été fantastique : souriante, gentille, et toujours disponible. Un service au top qui donne envie de revenir.

Cependant, un gros bémol : le terminal de paiement était bloqué. Franchement, commander pour une somme dépassant les 100 000 pour qu’on nous dise à la fin qu’il est impossible de payer par carte, ce n’est vraiment pas intéressant. Cela gâche un peu l’expérience globale, et j’espère qu’ils régleront ce problème rapidement.

Malgré cela, je recommande cet endroit pour sa cuisine et son ambiance, mais mieux vaut prévoir du liquide en attendant une amélioration de leur système...
