During my recent visit to Dakar, Senegal, I had concerns about finding Indian vegetarian food. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find a proper Indian restaurant named "RASOI - THE FLAVOURS OF INDIAN KITCHEN" which had a great selection of food and welcoming vibe. In this review, I will describe my experience dining at Rasoi and provide my honest feedback.

Ambience:

Rasoi - The Flavours of Indian Kitchen is a spacious, clean, and well-lit restaurant with bright and modern interiors. The ambiance is pleasing and inviting, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The restaurant also has outdoor seating with a bar, which adds to its appeal. Additionally, the parking space available in the front is a plus in Dakar, where finding parking can be challenging.

Food:

The menu at Rasoi offers an extensive selection of dishes for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. As a vegetarian, I was delighted to find several options to choose from. The food we ordered was delicious and had near-authentic flavors, which made the experience memorable. The restaurant had paid attention to detail in the preparation of dishes, which showed in the taste and presentation of the food.

Service:

While the food at Rasoi was exceptional, the service could have been better. The staff seemed inexperienced, and there were some hiccups in the service. However, the staff was friendly and tried their best to make us comfortable. I hope that the restaurant takes steps to improve its service, which will undoubtedly elevate the dining experience for customers.

Newly opened Indian restaurant across from BOMA and one of my favorite restaurants. The first time I walked I was a week before opening, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Despite having only been open about a two months, we have patronized at least 5 times. At the opening ceremony we sampled many different dishes, all of them delicious and well seasoned. Such a delight to find Rasoi in Dakar. After trying two other popular Indian spots before this one, only here, Rasoi, was the only place wanted to return to again and again. During my visits they ran a playful promotion: rolled dice to see how much of a discount would get on the total bill.

The staff are friendly, attentive, and polite — a few even speak English which made things easier. The Aloo Gobi was my favorite dish. Lunch hours were always relaxed and never rushed, though the music could be a little loud at times.
