really a shame we ate there twice the food was very good... the first time everything was perfect the waiter with the very short hair was very friendly and attentive. On the second visit, however, we had a slightly younger waiter with slightly longer hair who allowed himself a few nogo's(we are really not demanding people). First he put two cards in my hand and sent me out to find a table myself. Secondly, he came across as very arrogant and above all listless. For the third time I was still at the starter and he wanted to clear the plates even though I was still eating at that moment. Apparently main courses were finished too early in the kitchen. But the icing on the cake was when he asked whether it was a menu or bar when we still had our drinks half full and had only just finished eating when he cleared the table. I answered card and he said I should just come in to the card machine when we're done (which isn't a problem and I would have done it if we'd been done) although the polite, slightly older waiter with short hair brought it out to us on the first visit. When after 3 minutes the younger waiter with the black hair came out with the card reader, I was really angry inside (we still weren't finished). how can you be like that learn how to deal with customers cleverly and ask your older colleague for a few tips on how to be friendly. If you don't feel like working with people, the job in gastronomy is definitely not for you. I'm so sorry for the older waiter who really deserved 5 stars (stay as you are). I really want to emphasize that the food was very tasty and fresh and it was really only due to this one young waiter with black hair that this rating was not a...
Read moretasty octopus curry & red snapper | great value alternative to resort food
We discovered Lobster Bay in our attempt to explore alternatives to the high-priced resort restaurant options (we stayed at Constance Lemuria). We initially went here for lunch, and the food quality & portion sizes exceeded expectations. My wife had the seychelles platter, which featured excellent octopus curry and shark chutney (our first time having each dish). I had the red snapper, which was tasty. We had similar dishes at other restaurants during the remainder of our trip (both across praslin and mahe), and these were among the best versions of them.
We enjoyed the food so much that we came back the next day to pick up takeaway for dinner and bring it back to our resort. While the takeway menu is limited, it is a great value (my wife was tired of me complaining about inflated restaurant prices in seychelles). Our favorite takeaway option was the chicken wrap, while the pizza was forgettable.
One of our favorites across both Praslin and Mahe, and we'll definitely return during future trips...
Read moreNormal restaurant that thinks they are a high end luxury restaurant. Do not eat any seafood there (ironic for a seafood restaurant)
First of all, the food tasted good and the waiters were nice and polite. The place itself looks alright, so nothing to complain about on this part.
Now the bad side, the food is way way way too overpriced for the quality and amount. If you are hungry dont go there, and under any circumstances dont order the sea food. The "lobster tail" was more of a prawn tail, regarding its size and they charge 60€ for that, all other foods also overpriced but that seems to be normal here. Now the funniest part is the owner. Sadly he was not there, so I couldnt talk to him personally. But reading some of the other reviews made me write this. He seems to be a cocky and delusional person, telling his customers to "chose other items on the menu or that the seychells are expensive". Yes its expensive here, but that does not justify any of that. There is plenty of better food options around, so...
