always check your bill over there
It wasn't my first time here. And I couldn't say that something had changed. I'm just personally getting very sensitive when it comes to pay my bills with overcharge. I just started to actually check my bills with paying attention to details for the last couple of month. After that I realized that, it's alot of places were overcharging me ahhaha
So I'm writing a review here, cos of the overcharges.
I was here a few times during the month. And of course, mistakes happens. When the indoors are over crowded, I guess, human error is ok. Wrong keen, double keen or whatever.
This time we were 3 and just nicely sitting by the river.
It was only a few tables.
The staff was calling us in when we were passing by with 50% off on all the drinks. My friends said sounds good. I double check with the staff and we went in.
We saw quite a few tables and different staff was explaining the promotion.
Well, it was a good night over all. Means I was enjoying spending some time with friends.
We got like 10 pint each and a lot of food.
The food was ok. We all liked the octopus. The drinks - it was tap beers. - alright.
I would never leave any reviews when it comes to understaff and you have and catch your own waiter, cos I understand the sad fnb situation of Singapore.
We stayed for 3 hours plus and I asked for the bill.
The bill was 750$+. I looked at the bill and the staff face impression. Something looked odd. Ahha
If it wasn't the first time of overcharge here, Maybe I wouldn't be so sceptical and etc. Now it looks like it's a company SOP. Since we got quite a few drinks, perhaps, we shouldn't see the price difference. When people are high - who cares, correct?
The gentleman,who represented the bill was asking if something was wrong. I said how about 50% all day long till 0300am
The answer was: perhaps, I missheard or miscommunication or one of the staff didn't know. It's actually only one or two iteams only.
I was omg in my head, I wasn't that drunk and I'm not stupid. They were explaining the promotion all night long to all the guests. Lol
Secondly, if you got caught in action, Just say sorry and keep quiet. Perhaps, it was the manager, lol Whoesle is going to blame his staff or the actual guests hearing problems. Which is odd as well. Should be taking the responsibilities.
Anyway, they adjusted the bill , it was actually 50$ off , so we just paid a half of 750$.
In addition, the place has a good view and some live music. The deal of 50% should be bringing the crowd. But pls whatever you do upon settling the bill...
Read moreVery bad service given overall. Definitely would not recommend this to anyone looking for a good night out. Currently in Singapore, only vaccinated people are able to dine in. When I was trying to enter the restaurant, they asked me to show them my vaccination status, which I understand. However, while I was trying to pull up the vaccination information for them on my phone, I was also requesting specific seats in the restaurant. The response I was given was “we have seats, just show me your vaccination status first.” The way the staff said this sentence was very rude, as in I was trying to cheat them regarding my vaccination status and they do not want to entertain my requests until I have showed them the vaccination status first. I find this type of customer service very unacceptable.
Next, I have a discount for drinks in their restaurant on another app I am subscribed to. However, after consuming their drinks, they just told me that since it’s their shop, they can decide on which drink they would want to give discounts on. Even thought the app wrote that I would have discounts for a ‘cocktail’, they specified that only 1 single type of cocktail was available for discounts. I find this behaviour very unacceptable also.
Overall, customer service is atrocious at this restaurant and they are very dishonest with their business. I will never visit their restaurant ever again and I recommend everybody to stay as far away from...

Never experienced such unprofessional and downright hostile behavior from a bartender - guy with neck tattoo at Octapas.
While at the ordering counter, I said ‘hey hey’ a bit loudly due to the background music, which apparently triggered the bartender. I initially tried to calm down and reason thinking there is a misunderstanding, but he instead escalated the situation, provoked me to go outside to fight, and later came outside, while I was talking to friends, trying to instigate further conflict.
This behavior is completely unacceptable for someone in the service industry. It’s clear this individual has unresolved issues, has the attitude of a wannabe gangster and lacks basic customer service skills.
Surprisingly few of the other staff and the reception lady also ganged up against me and my girlfriend who was calmly trying to explain the chain of events to them. They kept saying 'Please go, you are provoking him by standing outside', instead of reasoning with the bartender.
I recommend the management address this immediately and ensure proper training for their staff. Bar patrons deserve respect and a safe environment, not aggression from those meant to serve them.
