U Taliana, Sapori Italiani — Restaurant in Bratislava

I recently visited this Italian restaurant with high expectations, and while the ambiance was truly exceptional, the overall experience was marred by some notable shortcomings.

The moment we stepped inside, we were struck by the restaurant's elegant decor and cozy atmosphere. The lighting was warm and inviting, and the overall aesthetic was sleek and sophisticated. However, the service was a different story altogether. Our server was friendly but seemed overwhelmed, and it took a while to get our orders taken and food served. What's more, some services came with additional charges, which felt a bit nickel-and-dimed.

The menu had limited vegetarian options, which was a bit of a disappointment for our group. We also noticed that the restaurant didn't seem very kid-friendly, which might make it less suitable for families.

The food, unfortunately, was average and bland. While the presentation was nice, the flavors were somewhat lacking, and we didn't feel like the dishes were particularly memorable.

One of the biggest challenges was finding parking. The area was quite congested, and it took some time to find a spot. Once inside, we noticed that there was no background music, which added to the somewhat formal and stiff atmosphere. We also didn't see a hostess or manager around to welcome us or check in on us during or after the meal.

The WORST service in a restaurant that I have ever encountered in Europe... The waiters have a problem of attitude and they suffer from lack of politeness. They are ill-trained and don't have the basic knowledge of a courteous way to deal with guests. They meet you with a grumpy face from the door entrance and they show you a frown when you ask them for anything (like vinegar or pepper)!! I had to ask the waitress if she was upset from something else, because she gave me a very nasty look when I dared to call her !! Speaking of the food, it was not great. The risotto was terribly under cooked (to the extent of being crunchy instesd of al dente), the lamb was chewy and the Pizza was with very little tomato sauce. They charged me 5€ without any prior notice, because I asked to change the zucchini topping on the pizza with mushroom and for asking to have regular Chilli flakes for the pizza, which they called fresh Chilli in the final bill to charge for it too. When I complained they became very defensive and even impolite, slamming the invoice on the counter, trying to intimidate me for daring to complain. Very unpleasant experience which I wouldn't recommend for anyone. I'm disappointed that the management doesn't control such irresponsible behavior of the waiters who will end up ruining the reputation of what used to be...

On my last visit, I was unpleasantly surprised. The food quality went way down, and prices way up, but thats understandable given situation. We had: pizzas - just average, lasagna - average, could compete with premade one from the supermarket, but still it was OK. Spaghetti (alla) Carbonara - this was the worst part, I guess that alla is something like not carbonara but close enough to carbonara, I get it, but this was close to student "cheese" sauce made at 2 am while drunk. Salad with salmon - terrible, some lettuce with weird dressing and not very good looking salmon, I did not even finish it and I've always finished in school cantines. Service was again, just OK, and then they politely asked for a 10% tip....yeah thanks for nothing.....Well not for nothing, I guess thanks for diarrhea for 4/10 people :).

Great restaurant for Italian cuisine. I had pizza and it was almost as good as in Italy. Also pasta looked really good. There is also Italian shop upstairs so you can buy some groceries there and try Italian dishes at home.
