It's been a really long time since I had my last and unforgettable meal prepared by Chef Ivek at Marina hotel in Isola...but, the perfection of every bite is still very vivid in my memory. Chef Ivek is a magnificent human being with an eye for quality and high standards of customer service, born to recognise the best in his personally chosen ingredients, to extract that quality with glorious matching with other food and vine, and to deliver an experience on every level and of all senses. I remember there were some pasta meals, like ravioli that were shaped by palms of a sweet little highlander granny who's recipe is garded like a secret of Istrian rocky castles, I remember a soup made of sea fruit and shells picked and chosen with attention to each one, I remember the fish served so fresh you could feel it is still vibrant, I remember salad, "the happiness plate", bursting with colorful nutrition and yet so elegant and composed taste. For the desert we had the daily cake. And it was THE best desert we have ever had. It was perfectly balanced in its flavors. And it made you happy. Amaizing!
The outside sitting area is quite nice, the ambience inside was quite unwelcoming and I was just passing by to get to the toilet.
The price is well worth the food they serve.
The waiter was not that kind or welcoming. And was very slow.
We hope to come here again soon, to taste their delicious food again.

Read moreThis is an outstanding restaurant, from the food, to the wine menu, to the service, to the views. First, we were impressed with the wine menu. It has an excellent selection of Slovenian wines, many by the glass. Next, we were impressed with our waiter who was always attentive and friendly. But where we were most impressed was the food. We shared the cold seafood appetizer (pic is a half portion, as they split it on two plates for us) and it was so good, especially the cod spread and the sardine in savor. I had the grilled scampi which were perfect. My husband had the seasonal fish plate that had almond crusted fish and fried octopus.
